Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2026 Discussion

If you think Nash is terribly rough then sorry you haven't done enough woodies there are way rougher woodies then Nash.

Bandit, Loup Garou, Hades 360 to name but a few.

Nash is pure chaotic fun with some of the strongest airtime in the UK
Granted, I haven’t done any of the above and I also haven’t ridden National since 2019, but based on my last experience, I vehemently disagree.

I agree that Nash has a good layout with some cracking airtime, but the amount of jackhammering is nothing short of ridiculous to the point where it almost becomes the overriding sensation on the ride (or at least did on the two rides I’ve had). On my two experiences, it was not for me at all for that precise reason, but if it was a smoother ride (or at very least more consistently smooth), it could be brilliant.

Nash has the strongest airtime in the UK?

I mean the UK is bereft of airtime in general but Nash is not an airtime machine.

To be fair, @Hid said “some of” the UK’s strongest airtime, which I think is a fair shout.

If I were voting for my most airtime-filled UK coaster, I would vote Hyperia by a country mile (that thing has weightlessness by the bucketload), but I’ll admit that a lot of Hyperia’s isn’t traditional “straight” airtime as such. Grand National does have a fair few pops of surprisingly good straight air!

Ridden it hundreds of times, airtime has never been a major thought for me.

I will agree, Nash is basically glass smooth compared to Hades.

I'm not sure why it is either completely fine or must be scrapped to most people? GCI for example could sort it relatively easy I would imagine.

It would take away from that classic wooden bite that old woodies have. Wooden coasters must be man made in order to have this not pre cut precesion cutting

I wasn't aware that GCI employed a workforce of sentient beavers to construct their rides.

I can assure you that every rollercoaster in existence is human made, much to my chagrin.

Wings just don't cut it.

After Aviktas, I think the next ride to be added in the park should be in the old Astro Swirl/Millennium Bug dome. After over 20 years, they should install something there again. Either an identical classic Hrubetz Round Up that was once there or even a Zamperla Nebulez or a HUSS Breakdance 5!!

There were rumours the sixties concrete floor and supporting Bailey Bridges from WW2 surplus weren't up to bearing the weight of any ride anymore...hence the completely unused covered space.
There were also rumours that the wall space under the dome is full of asbestos, and the removal costs were prohibitive in the extreme, so the dinosaur bubble remains.
Allegedly.

Sadly, I'm old enough to remember the thing being built...Buckminster Fuller and all that.

Thats a shame. The space seems to be dead nowadays.

The dome is ‘wasted space’ to us, but not to the park. I’m pretty sure it’s full of old stuff they can’t be bothered to properly dispose of, such as Grand Prix cars and Valhalla boats.

It’s a dump anyway, broken tiles all over the floor and a leaking roof. This was the case even when it was still open as an arcade, buckets all over to catch the water and loose tiles everywhere underfoot.

I’d be quite sad if it was removed, but I can’t imagine them spending money to fix its problems and putting something for the punters in there again.

I just realised that you can go for a time travelling virtual walk round Blackpool Pleasure Beach in google maps.

I am sure other people already knew this but for those that didn't, go to google maps, head to the pleasure beach then drag that little yellow man in the bottom right hand corner and drop him in the park.

You will find yourself back in 2011.

So put on your VR Goggles, and pretend the last 15 years were all a horrible dream !!!!

Dead Rodent Alert - For those of a nervous disposition, please make sure you have someone on hand to comfort you when you come back to 2026.

It just shows how much the park has changed since 2011 - And almost entirely for the worse.
