It's still standing and again, it closed earlier than everything else in the season because it needs maintenance work carrying out on it, if they'd have carried on running it through to the end of the season, it may well have increased the maintenance work load thats needed to keep it going for many years to come.

I would be happy for the Mouse to have a year out for refurbishment and return in 2019 if that's what needs to happen.

Yup, still there in all its glory, can be seen from the main entrance gates.
No sign of any work being done on it...time will tell.
Sadly SBNO...but then again, so we're all the other rides.

Anybody heard anything of interest about what kind of outlet (presuming it will be an outlet) is replacing the Trauma Towers building?

There was a Burger King noted on the map this year as being new and located in the Casino. Not particularly exciting but could it be this ‘new’ Burger King but a year late.

Hope not.

A Burger King at each end of the park is a bit silly. A park entrance at each end is a better idea !

A couple of weeks ago, Club PBE's facebook page shared that BPB were doing a blind auction of all that old junk that was behind The Star. . . Gold Mine carts, Valhalla boats, Superbowl men, etc. With bids to be made direct to the park. Did anyone see it or end up winning anything?

Cool that the stuff was made available for park fans and not just skipped, but I'd much rather it have been a normal auction like fleabay so you can see what the bid is actually up to, as AT did with the flume boats (well, baths)

I'd have loved a Gold Mine cart but for the space it takes up & probably having to hire a van to collect! Shame if they got rid of the flower planter Gold Mine cart behind the Big One station, was always nice to see it whilst wandering about

I won the front car from RollerCoaster, still in the process of sorting out its transport back to my storage in Crewe.

I've seen that quite a few people have won Valhalla boats too.

Awesome! I've ran out of space for small ride stuff let alone big stuff. Shame it was a blind auction, I had no idea if that stuff would sell for £30 or £300

Are you sure the new "Burger King" on the map at the Casino wasn't meant to be a Costa logo, and someone had just made a mistake? Coz there's a new Costa in there.

During the Heritage tour earlier in the year, they mentioned that the woodies will no longer be painted, as parts get replaced they'll be left as natural wood.

There is proof of this as on Dippers turn around there's a bit section that's all natural wood with no paint at all.

Edit: here it is:

Is there any reason for this? Cost cutting/too much effort? Or just that they prefer the traditional look of the woodies? Genuinely just curious :)
