The situation with Nickelodeon Streak is a farce and has been since 2011, it's the signature ride in a family area yet having it stuck on one train means the queue is ridiculous on anything approaching a busy day.

Regarding Wild Mouse, the official BPB website says "closed due to maintenance" so I assume from this that it'll be open once the maintenance that the park have officially stated is complete.

Me too. In fact, I can't wait to ride this legendary ride again. The sooner the maintenance is completed the better !

From a technical perspective, how would you get more trains on the Streak?
One loading, a 2nd going around and some sort of computer braking system to stop them both attempting to be in the station at once?
It doesn't sound beyond the realms if so.

It used to run more than one train.

They'd have to completely change the station again to allow for a faster loading process, probably by having people exit to the left so the ride just stops once (like the big one for example). Probably slow down the lift hill as well to buy a bit more time. Can't see it ever happening. Hopefully they'll expand Nick land at some point add a new kid friendly coaster.

Expand where? Knocking down the Black Hole / Pizza restaurant or possibly across the train tracks to make something of the area in front of Avalanche?
The only easy option is Doras river ride, which could make way for a couple of rides. It is easily the worst attraction in Nickelodeon land

I don't see an expansion of Nick Land on the cards. It's a good size, but I understand the desire for a kiddie steel coaster - but I don't see it.

Dora - worst attraction ??? - surely not - Where else are you going to learn to say hello in 4 different languages ?

The worst has to be bikini bottom bus tour, even pre-school kids look bored on that !

Regarding expansion, they may use the upstairs space above big pizza kitchen for something - possible 4D cinema.

Could they replace the garden maze with something perhaps ?

Can't really see any further park developments for at least a couple of years. Guessing they have already emptied thier pockets with Icon and the new hotel.

The 4D cinema was certainly planned (hence the grand(ish) entrance to the Space Invader building) but no dice.

Always wondered what the deal with that elevation that looks like it should be an entrance but is now where the characters stand. It makes sense that they’d build it in mind of opening something in the old Space Invader area. There must be a decent amount of room up there and whilst I’m not mad keen on 4D cinemas, it’s a nice indoor attraction for Nick Land which otherwise struggles in the rain.

4D spongebob.... can't decide if that would be amazing or horrendous.
A 4D cinema would be a good addition to the roster though.

Nickelodeon Streak isn't going on two trains, I have posted this on PBE previously but not sure if I have posted it on here before. Nickelodeon Streak requires modernisation to the station, its lift hill and the installation of a computerised braking system to run on two trains, bottom line is, it's not financial viable for the Pleasure Beach to do this and they won't do it unless it becomes mandatory for it to run with a computerised braking system.

Remind me to take a lit match into the station next time...

I suppose with what is effectively now a Pay One Price system there will be very little advantages to the park in increasing capacity on the streak or any other ride for that matter if it is going to cost them money to do so. Streak would be much better for the punters if was on 2 trains but as you say Scott, this is very unlikely to happen in the foreseeable future unfortunately.

The park have now released wristbands for WOW Weekends at 50% off as usual. The price is £19.50 which means that the 2018 gate price has risen to £39.

Opening times have also been released for February and March only. WOW Weekends now open at 10am compared to 11am in 2017 and close at the same time of 5pm. The first day of daily operation will be March 24th with opening times of 10am-5pm all week.

Interestingly, the park have not posted opening times for the last two days in March, might there be a reason for this? ;)

Interesting, I'd much rather see 11am - 6pm for WOW Weekends personally.

£39 is quite a price hike from £32.50 this year as well!

Can’t see the South entrance reopening for 2018. As for queues at the Casino they do seem to get very long on busy days but it’s strange that they do get so long when the staffing levels at the desks are normally high. I’m not sure what they could do to reduce the queues without building a completely new entrance. Like I say though I don’t think the queues are from a lack of staffing, it must just be the process itself. Unfortunately it doesn’t give the best first impressions for visitors to be met by such long queues.

Best quick fix for next year is maybe using the foyer of the Globe as an overspill?

I suppose we regulars take for granted the entry system as we know what we're doing. I have witnessed numerous people at the counter having to have the various options explained to them, i.e. deciding whether to get full wristbands or just park entry then tickets for each ride. It really does take some people a while to decide what they're doing, whilst we season pass holders just hand over a card, present our right wrist and move on.

That said, a handful of times last season the system struggled to deal with my season pass card and the staff member had to go away and check something then return. Not sure what's so complicated, it clearly shows an expiry date and photo ID, it just doesn't always work. Generally the staff are great at getting people in as quickly as they can to be fair, it would just help if people knew what they wanted before getting to the front of the queue!
