With the last fireworks event I'm pretty sure most of nickland was open until park close at 10pm so you'd hope it would be similar with that tomorrow and rides would be open until 9pm.
Also there doing wristbands from 5pm for £22.

They had a 2nd train, never ran it on two since it became Nick Land. The second train went away for many years but now for some reason it has returned.
It can run two, BPB simply choose not to. For it to run 2 in an effective and efficient manner, it would require batching bays, extra staff and they would have to seriously up the pace they move about at. Seen it done in the RollerCoaster days, but with the station layout and attitude of the park these days I will consider streaking myself and racing the ride down bond street if it publicly runs 2 trains again.
It's likely to be used for rotation purposes, and if one developed a fault they have the option to change trains rather than run at a reduced capacity or close the ride.
All that said, this is one thing I would love to be proved wrong about, I would be a very happy chap to see it return to a 2 train service!

Unfortunately it will never happen, mostly due to the queue lay out and the H&S implications. By the time people have exited, speedy passed and the main queue boarded, it would have a small effect on throughput (unfortunately), plus of course there is the cost implications of increasing from 3 members of staff.

Like I said, it could happen if they wanted it to. A station reconfiguration isn't the biggest job to do over the winter.

The problem is there is no incentive to... Noone is going to book a visit purely because they can get on a train 5 seconds quicker. When profitability is already a struggle, they won't invest in redoing a station that was refurbed 7 years ago.
It is a sad truth, but that's how it is.

Aren't the current trains longer than the transfer track? Last time they had a 2nd train in the station it was split in two with part on each storage track. If it's too long to transfer on and off in one go, then it surely becomes impractical unless it's in use for long periods where they can leave both trains on the ride for weeks at a time.
Wasn't there also concern about the use of manual brakes to stop the returning train behind one that's part-way through loading as well? Dipper gets away with it as it's such a long ride the train is always ready to go long before the previous one returns, Streak is a shorter ride and currently takes far longer to load.

Maybe, maybe not. But an hour + wait for a ride will cause people to give negative feedback. Put that against a potential half hour wait where people feel the line is moving will have an effect on word of mouth advertising and potential repeat custom. The only reason I am not currently athe Alton is I have been watching and reading the reports and I am not entertaining them whole the operate as they do.
No the trains fit on the transfer line. Don't forget this used to run 4 car trains at one point. It's the Dipper that has the short transfer track, that's why it uses to run one 4 car train and one 3 car train (caused confusion at the batching bays!)

The incentive should be to improve the customer experience, not just short term profit. Improving the throughput of Nick Streak would improve the experience guests have, encouraging repeat visits and good word-of-mouth.

I think as enthusiasts sometimes we can get blindsighted as to how much things like this have an effect on the bottom line. Yes they should aim for a better experience, but to even decrease queue times 10% across the park would require a significant investment, and also decrease SP sales.

Enthusiast or otherwise, a long, slow moving queue is tedious, especially for what is the signature ride with the family area. It's not even like it's a kids ride and therefore only small kids want to ride it, it's big enough to interest everyone, and it's location in NL makes it one of the most rider friendly coasters on park. That alone should make the park want to do all they can to improve its throughput.
Was at the pleasure beach yesterday got front row on the big ones first public ride of the day one of the techs mentioned to me and another guy they have just received a new slow train can anyone elaborate on what this means?
Was also a shame to see Valhalla shut all day with someone mentioning it's down for four days but that could have been bull or misheard was great to get four rides on icon aswell as another three on Monday could just be me but the park had a buzzing vibe to it all day staff genuinely seemed happy and enjoying there day aswell as the public really can't wait to see what's next for the park hopefully a repaint of infusion wouldn't go a miss as the traumatizer paint is massively showing up in areas

They switch the wheels on the Big One to make the trains 'fast' or 'slow' depending on the time of the year. For periods of high wind where the ride is likely to struggle they will want 2 fast trains (train 3 being the slow one will go into winter maintenance) but during periods like now where the wind is still they will switch one of the trains wheels so it's slower, so that it can still run 2 together.
Ah thanks for the info always wondered what that means and with then saying new train would that mean a new body or new chassis or is it like a blanket term for a refurbishment of a train
