I do think it's selfish to accuse people of moaning when PMBO is on one train with a huge queue, when it might be their only opportunity in the year to go on it.

I didn’t specifically accuse people of moaning about PMBO’s queue who have travelled many hours to get to the park for possibly their only visit of the year. If you read back I actually mentioned Mako’s post, he responded and we cleared it up, so it seems pointless us going round in circles over it. He seems to be at the park every other day so perhaps it’s not that hard for him to simply ride PMBO another day. After his post though I appreciated that he was with non enthusiasts and was in a way forced to join the queue due to the poor state of the other rides on the day.

As much as we’d all love top notch customer service at amusement parks and everywhere else we go, it simply isn’t always going to happen. I’ve already said that I went to Thorpe and didn’t get on Stealth. I wasn’t entitled to go on it, no park promises that all their rides will be open or that Coasters will run multiple trains. You get what you’re given on the day and have to get on with it. That doesn’t mean we have to be happy about it, but it’s just the way it is.

The simple fact is that PMBO with a long single train queue snaking around the pens by the ORP kiosk is very poor indeed, and they should be getting the second train fixed as a priority (if indeed it is broken) as like shakey says, that queue can define people’s opinion of the park. I will be visiting on Sunday, I don’t normally do winter weekends but my brother is over (he has travelled for hours so i hope the park appreciates this :) ), and winter has dragged like a seal’s arse!

Yeah, I brought up the fact that different people are in different situations regarding visiting the park, as I didn't feel it was right to ridicule people for moaning about a 2 hour queue without considering that it's a bigger issue for some than others.

I wonder if The Big One has bigger issues, hopefully it's just a case of the second/third train not being ready but after the end of last season, I'm not so sure.

Someone told me on Saturday that he had heard there were problems with the actual station (the lift system).
I hope this is not true.
I could see the train underneath the main station track when queuing and it was completely covered/wrapped and looked like it hadn't been touched in a while somehow (can't remember if I actually saw dust on it, it just looked kind of "parked for a while" in some way. I know there is another train there too but I assume the one straight underneath would be the first one to be added.

I never knew the Big One had been running on one train since September until the weekend. If I had, I probably wouldn't have bothered getting a season pass. Was looking forward to a year with tonnes of Big One re-rides. Only managed two rides at the weekend, waited / queued around an hour and that was just because I joined the queue before 1130 on both days. The queue then quickly swelled to 2 1/2 hrs. Had a great time last year summer, only queuing no more than 25 mins or so for The Big One and managing 10 goes over several days without much bother at all. But if it starts to be an always 1-2+ hour queue type of ride, well that just sucks. And is sad considering it is celebrating 25 years this year. One train made this a 250 riders per hour - ride from what I saw how long a cycle takes (7 minutes my phone showed on average between 4 or so cycles back to back). Very low capacity considering the size of the coaster. They were still clearing the queue well after 6pm (Park closed at 5). Even Valhalla still had a queue after 6! (that was Saturday, I couldn't bear the breakdowns and queues any longer on the Sunday and left midday to the surprise of the security staff when I didn't need the come back later stamp).

Can't believe they dared to sell Speedy pass at BPB this past weekend. Complete disgrace with what was going on. They should have stopped selling that as soon as Icon went down and forget about it completely on Sunday.

Will wait till I hear some good reports over the next few months (I hope) before making the 3 hour drive again.

ICON's issues have been resolved as far as I am aware.

Pleasure Beach know they had a bad opening weekend, they've worked extremely hard this week to try and avoid any repeat issues this weekend.
Promising news!

You mean they have made the launch speeds faster so it is actually a descent speed? Just teasin. Any idea what the problem was?

I was at PB last weekend, and generally I’ve always had good trips to the place, but last weekend was awful. You just spent the day going from one closed ride to the next, to a broken ride, to a ride with a 2 hour queue.

I still had a great weekend but that was due to the friends, drinking and the good laugh we had taking the mick out of the place.

I think during the weekend there was not one ride which didn’t break or close. Some rides I never actually saw open at all, despite the closed board still only listing Ghost Train as being closed as the entrance.

It’s actually the first time I’ve complained at Blackpool, they were fully aware of the issues and it didn’t take any effort at all to get a free visit and ft, actually managed to get return visit for Sunday, which was just as bad, so got a return visit for another day in the season.

In other news spoons was nice

I sincerley hope this weekend goes better for anyone who's on park.

Personally speaking I won't be planning any visits during the Wow Weekends, the damage was done with the reviews from last weekend and it won't be until the main season that I set foot in the place.

There's an interesting video on YouTube where someone reads out an email they recieved from the park, where they actually admit that the weekend wasn't good enough and provide free return wristbands. If they've finally woken up and realised they need to improve, then fair play to them.
