Blackpool Pleasure Beach: Icon - 2018 Mack Double Launch Coaster

Then adding multiple things that incur additional costs (like any ride) is questionable no?

Maintaining 4 different rides is far more costly than maintaining 1... The required ROI would actually likely be higher as a result...
You would of course have to retire older, less popular attractions to compensate for maintenance on newer additions. That's how theme parks work, you can't just keep adding and adding without removing anything unless you are willing to take on more technical services staff.

So we're now factoring in demolition and removal costs of old rides/buildings to add onto this concept of yours which is apparently less money than they spent on Icon...

So for £16 million you really think that Blackpool could add 3 coasters (one of which cost $6m) and a flat ride, perhaps including the removal of the bowling alley or something else, plus all other associated costs and get change out of it?

No, it was obviously a bit of an exaggeration and simplified the situation, but my point was they could have got more for the money that they paid.

Mack. That's the only reason. Made by anyone else they wouldn't give 2 hoots.

I disagree. I love Mack, but I do not think Icon is anywhere near as good as it could and should have been. Helix is in my top 10, Icon is nowhere near my top 10.

Icon would have been a better coaster if built by Intamin, assuming they would have had stronger launches and greater speed throughout.

:)

There seems no reason to believe that Mack couldn't have made a better version of Icon. We know they can do a lot better when it comes to launches, for instance.

That award is based on the ride and name reveal last year; not the full (or rather, very little of) marketing package.
