Blackpool Pleasure Beach: Icon - 2018 Mack Double Launch Coaster

I believe the max theoretical throughput is 960pph.
We can hope for 800, then.

More than Smiler will be getting this year if it loses baggage, to be fair. Plus the speedy pass allocation shouldn't be too high and presumably will actually have been properly designed into the ride for once, so hopefully the queue will actually move fairly well. In my last few visits I've been impressed by how efficiently Infusion has been operated when speedy pass isn't getting in the way, so I'm fairly optimistic for Icon.

Another look at Icon, filmed earlier on today;
Icon will run on 3 trains as far as I am aware, the train currently on its way to Pleasure Beach is the second train.
Watched it earlier

Is Icon going to be the world's first coaster to have a baggage hold that moves along with the transfer track?

You may have just ruined Merlin’s next SW concept.

I usually visit on off peak days and I have been on park when staff have said less than 600 people were in the park on the entire day.
Although I imagine they may run it on 1 train on those really quiet term time days once the initial rush has passed.

Don't think there will be any really quiet days this year after Icon opens.
It was the same when the Big One opened, off peak went out the window for two seasons.
It will obviously be busier than previous years but in term time you can still get ridiculously quiet days. When no kids can legally be there (I know you still get some who do go) then it's never overly busy.

I'm really looking forward to this coaster, but I don't think it'll have anywhere near the regional or cultural impact of The Big One, but then, very few rides do or ever will again.

That's going to apply less and less now, what with Academies being able to set their own school hours and holidays, and some shutting one day a week to save money, plus the explosion of home educated kids as a result of the awful curriculum presently, I once dropped into Legoland to pop into the office on a totally legit school day (no inset days or holidays) and the place was full of school age kids. A lot of one particular religious group too, was quiet surprised to see so many Orthodox Jews there, seems they home ed their kids a lot more than other groups.
Nope, was late September.
Edit: I did speak to a guy who told me he home ed'd his kids and it was a community type trip, I've no problem striking up a conversation with someone in a queue, especially when he looks at me and says 'aren't we a bit old for this place?' and laughs.

I think you might be over estimating that though. The vast majority of kids all have the same holidays really give or take a week. As long as you visit on the days when no schools are off (There are still plenty believe me) you won't be queuing all day even for Icon.
