TowersStreet posted a video of the new Postman pat ride testing yesterday on its Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/towersstreet), it does look quite good, and much faster than the tractor ride, it also has on ride audio.

One thing I notice on the old squirrel nutty cars is that they have what look like speakers built in to the roofs of them, im pretty sure they didn't have these before, so maybe this ride will have on ride audio.

This is obviously not going to be Wizarding World of Harry Potter but I'm glad to be seeing more theming being added to the area. I was worried that it was going to be just primary colour repaints but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Still worry about capacity issues on the rides but visually it's certainly not a let down.

My biggest concern at the moment is the Squirrel Nutty station. I think it looks awful from the Spinball side. They've stuck those white things (can't for the life of me think what you'd actually call them) along the edges of parts of the roof and along with the white fencing on bits of the building I just think it looks a mess. It's a shame as the rest of the area is looking quite positive so far.

I think they have gone for the white fencing with bars very close together to prevent the accident that happened at Chessington a few years ago where a child managed to fall from the Tomb Blaster queue. I think the whie picket fence looks fine though.
But I agree the white bits at the top don't look right, they are trying to make it look like a country railway station and it doesn't fit with the rest of the building.

The sign in the second photo look rather like a signpost to Spinball Noodles which I believe is now always closed? Assuming these are evidence of the signs being removed rather than added?!

In general, I think the whole area is looking really good and I just hope it wins people over and gets positive recognition when it opens. Unless of course they manage a classic Towers balls-up on or around opening day!

Does anybody know, in the video of Pat testing, who is doing the voice? I don't know if it's meant to be Pat, but if it is, it doesn't sound like Stephen Mangan. As Stephen is doing the voice of Pat in the upcoming film (eeeek!) I would say it's a bit strange not to keep the continuity.

On the white components, the fencing looks a tad strange, but not too bad. The other white bits are a good idea, which with a bit of paint put on to decorate a bit could look quite good, I think it's just the fact that it's such a blank colour on top of the colourful-ness that makes it look so odd. So, I think if paint is added to do some nice swirls or something then it'll look much prettier and a bit less strange :)

The farmyard areas and Postman Pat are starting to look quite nice now they are adding some theming details.

Squirrel Nutty just looks a mess though, this part of the refurb is a bit cheap and lazy with no real thought.

I have no idea who is doing the voice, but to me it sounded like it was meant to be Postman Pat. I guess it could be the same person who does the voice on the cartoons.

Those spinball noodles signs were on the side of the unit, and have now been removed, as they have added more fence along the side of spinball noodles, which is painted yellow like the rest of the fence.

A brand new aerial image thanks to Tatenhill Avaition taken this weekend. It certainly does look colourful and there does appear to be a few more scenery elements in place now.

I used to think that Sonic Spinball stood out a little too much, but it's positively subtle compared to what is now next to it. :p

I think there now appears to be a really nice looking play area (at least from above, it's colourful etc.)

Postman pat appears to have some substantial themeing, as well as a character meet and greet section perhaps?

It's bright, colourful and fresh - a distinctly different area to any that Merlin has produced over the past 10 or so years. The room for expansion is potentially great - the car parks around it as well as Adventure Land.

I had a peek over the weekend and must say that CBeebies Land is looking great.

Lots of planting, paving and theming elements and a very audible, child friendly soundtrack.

Looking forward to seeing this unfold.

Looks like we'll be getting ERT with it. I wonder how the ERT system will work from 24th May onwards then. With a bit of luck, it will be a bottom of Towers Street job, but I somehow doubt it.

Would seem pretty stupid if they make everyone go through MB to do an U-Turn by the Towers and back up. Actually, thinking about it, they may have staff at CBoobies Land entrance checking for passes.

I'd imagine it will be staff at the entrance to CBeebies Land considering that the entrance is going to have to be staffed all the time anyway.

Interested to see what that means... The 'early access' currently advertised in Sainsbury's stores with P&G products states it's from 8-9am!

So CBeebies will presumably always open at 9, with ERT being from 8 for it?

8-9am!? That surely has to be a printing error. I can't see them opening up an hour earlier than normal for CBeebies Land. Unless I've missed something and that has been mentioned before?
