Chessington World of Adventures Resort

The do certainly seem to be swinging that wrecking ball, but if it will improve the ride in the long run then I am sure it will be a good thing! Hopefully Dragon Falls will get some sparkly new theming next year?! Do you think they will market it as a new ride/experience?

The minetrain looks more like TH13TEEN and Rita with its scaffolding "themeing"!

Lets hope this will teach Merlin to look after their older rides, rather than leave them so long that they have to spend a fortune on removing it all.

With the right planning, just a few months over winter we're sorted!

Don't think nemmy would be able to run with work happening, so I highly expect if they did anything to do that over closed season.

Surely this is the perfect oppotunity to replace the mine train with a better rollercoaster?

I mean lets face it, the theming was the only thing which made it special, without it it's literally just a Flying Fish.

They could have utilized the old Rodeo site to fit in a bigger coaster.

There's nothing wrong with the ride system. If it works, why replace it?

The way Merlin are looking at this is it's a great chance to fix up some broken theming, and then, they get to market them as "New & Improved" for next year. Like, in a similar way, they can market new animals to Zufari as a "New & Improved" experience. It's all about getting the best possible attendance from the lowest possible investment when it comes to Chessington.

Thorpe can add ride after ride and still only just peak over the 2 million guest mark (Around that I think) and Chessington can add barely anything, and not even suffer a single fall in attendence. The way they see it is that they had to do these renovations due to concerns over safety, and not so much because they "wanted to invest", but at the same time Chessington gets to market it as being an "Upgrade", a "£5million investment" and "...make your adventure even better for the future." It's a win win for Merlin. Little investment and an increase of visitors.

New and Improved doesn't even come into it...

Simple fact is there isn't space to build a big coaster on the Runaway spot...

There's only just enough space for a GCI Back Track. If they wanted to do anything else they'd have probably shift the petting zoo and use that land. I doubt they'd be allowed to move backwards (i.e. over the staff road and use some of Zufari's space for a little interaction with that) either.

Well on way back from there now and I am disgusted! Twice we were queue jumped! The second time we confronted the people. It stopped them for a while then they actually pusbed on of us out of the way.

We finally got the attention of the ride op who told us that someone had informed her but now we had told her she informed security. However whether this was done or not I do not know. Something needs to be done regarding this. Ot doesn't happen alot at AT, if it does at TP you can text a number or the ride ops are quite good at confronting people. Very very disgusted in the way the woman pushed Roanne out the way and nothing was done!

You need to make a serious complaint about this. That's not on. It sounds like Roanne was actually physically grabbed and pushed out of the way. There is a difference between a bit of verbal, a squeeze past cheeky ****** and actually being grabbed and pushed out of the way.

Take this to the top, it doesn't sound like it was dealt with, in a childrens/family park that's a disgrace, I wouldn't tolerate that at THORPE never mind Chessington.

It should have been immediately dealt with. No excuses. If you are physically abused it is instant ejection for them end of.

Disgraceful and sorry to hear you both had to put up with that!

Hahaha - sorry to laugh but that is so British ;D

"I SHALL PEN A STRONGLY WORDED LETTER!!"

Joking aside, well done! They should get a straight ban, yes I know that is not easy before anyone goes off on one, but in principle they should - that's a disgrace.

Good job I wasn't there, I'd now be banned for escorting them to the managers office most likely ha-ha!!

"GROUCHY MAN GETS BANNED FOR ACCOSTING THEME PARK QUEUE JUMPING GRAN!"

<IMAGE REMOVED> TEAM EDIT: As much as we appreciate you had a bad time and queue jumping should never be promoted or tolerated, we don't want to seem as though we're spearheading some kind of vigilante movement on the forum :)

These people are queue jumpers who think they can push past members of the public who may have young children with them.

They also think they can physically handle people by pushing them with force if they cannot get their own way.

If you see these people, please make the ride ops aware!

Ok, next time I see somebody's ear and the back of a woman's head, I'll be sure to report them.

During the whole stand off and pushing I struggled to get them to stand still and pose for me. ;-)
