I think the difficulty comes where you have different types of accommodation. If you book a hotel room and are offered a shed and that is defined as a downgrade and vice-versa an upgrade, then I think there is some room for annoyance if offered the former, but equally they're still giving you a bed.

For work this week my hotel was overbooked and they sent me 5 mins walk down the road to another in the same chain, I couldn't really complain.

The “annoyance” was the shed is NOT suitable accommodation for me. If it WAS I would have taken it.
Compounded by the fact this was the only solution they kept coming back with, even after 10 hours of “don’t worry, go and enjoy your day on park. We find accommodation “

What difference does that make? VIP is just bullshit. Basically expecting better treatment as your willing to pay more? Really?
We all crap the same....

It really irritates me when people expect more just because of a status.

I didn’t say you did???

It was merely a rant about VIP as a whole. Some people do try and throw their weight around with this status. I’ve read the thread and know you have never said that. Sorry I perhaps should have clarified my rant of status wasn’t related to you ;-)

Why isn't it suitable?
 
As someone who stays in hostel dorm rooms, a private room is a relative luxury. It's not what you asked for, but there's no reason why it's not "suitable". Unless you have some sort of disability but if that were the case I'm sure you'd have told Towers and they would have ensured you were found an accesible room on resort or elsewhere.
 
Well I think we're about done in here now as we're straying well off the original topic and people have had ample opportunity to air their views across four pages. If you'd like to continue general discussion about any of the things brought up in here (VIP pass, hotels etc etc) then please use the relevant topics in General Discussion, thanks!
