well Ive had mine around a month now already done Blackpool sea life, dungeons and madame tussauds didn't get up the tower as it was too windy all 3 times we tried. got into Scarborough sea life only the other day, trip booked to Alton for two days during scarefest and plans to go to London for a few days to take in all the attractions down there next year.

I had one through Clubcard points but my pass expired in June. I'm currently waiting to build up enough points and get one probably around January time. Myself and my girlfriend will get one each, one through Clubcard points and the other in the January sale if they do it again.

A quick question which I thought would be most suitable for here. Rather than renewing my MAP at the renewal prices this year, is it possible to cancel it and then buy another one completely in December/January when there will inevitably be another half price sale? I would imagine this would be cheaper than renewing...anyone?

I don't think there's anything stopping you buying a new annual pass before your current one expires. I see no reason for Merlin to want you not to do it, the only reason against it is that under normal circumstances it would cost you more money.

I thought this, however I wondered whether it would flag up on their computer systems when you enter all of your details on buying the pass. I bought mine last December in the half price sale, so if I just left it until then again then it will have expired anyway - and I'm hoping that will be the point at which I can buy another one without that problem occuring.

Enjoying reading this topic back to see how representative people are to Merlin attractions and the worth of the pass.

I still think anyone over an hour North of Alton isnt getting a great deal, I realise now Merlinpool exists but thats only on the west side of the country, Im pretty central in Yorkshire and Merlinpool is even further than Towers!

If you live in the London locality you are going to get a damn good deal from all 3 london parks and the major midways in the capital.

Midlands get Towers, Warwick Castle and a nice chunk of midways such as Birmingham Sea Life. And could probably do a London based park in a day if pushed, it wouldnt be ideal, but its certainly possible without an overnight stay.

Further north you have Towers, and Legoland Discovery in Manchester which at best is a 3 hour attraction. If you are on the west coast you do have Merlinpool and alot easier access to Towers. So I suppose thats not too bad.

I just feel abit left out in the north and not near melinpool, but I suppose Devon and Cornwall are in the same situation too.
I have recently looked at passes again and decided I simply cant justify the cost at all, I may at some point swing for a Towers annual pass again, but with the way this season has unravelled I doubt it.

There is a Merlin attraction in Cornwall - the National Seal Sanctuary in Gweek - which is about 20 minutes' drive from my uni accommodation. I haven't visited it in years, though. I may well be one of the most south-westerly owners of an MAP. :p

I've held an Annual Pass since 2010 and, due to being a Southerner-now-Midlander, I've gained so much use out of it that I genuinely would be crying into my purse if it was taken away from me; it's just a very useful and handy card for seeing folk.

I do understand if people who don't get to come on the meets or don't have the time to visit theme parks and attractions as often don't buy one however, as it's all about getting the money's and fun's worth of the visit.

Today I have renewed my normal annual pass to a merlin annual pass really glad. Had a pass since 2006 I love the place

My pass runs out today. :(

The sad thing is I can only really afford either a Merlin or Pleasure Beach Pass, and with both having their pros and cons it's a real toughie to decide between them.

What's the most cost-effective to renew an MAP, and is it possible to do it quickly on park does anyone know?

On park or online quick and easy to do...

£117 - Standard
£144 - Premium

Always, always, bought my annual pass as "new" with various offers or deals going, rather than renewing - they won't mind that :).

The most cost effective way, if it indeed would work, is to let it expire then reregister in December/January when the half price sale is on. Then you only pay £77 (something like that) instead of £117.
