Drayton Manor Park

I can’t really say anything as I haven’t seen it in person, but judging and basing it from the concept art, am I the only one who feels like it’s lacking something?

Themeing also seems sparse. I will certainly hold judgment till I see it in flesh, but I hope we do get more themeing than what’s already pictured.

Hopefully in person it will feel different but maybe it just needed another centrepiece, something like a giant ship witha play area inside in the middle of the area or some other focal point?

But with all the rides moving around the area it will probably feel pretty good.

Also just generally, now thats two years in a row the park has opened new areas. Yes the main attraction was existing (rapids) for Adventure Cove and the Buffalo isn't new either, but three new rides are going into Vikings. None of the Merlin parks are really investing like this. CBeebiesland is doing three rethemes, Chessington has a third hand Rockin tug. Only Paultons are doing similar investments.

The area name also isn’t very.. imaginative.

I’ll give the park it’s due for installing and investing back into it so hats off to them. But maybe I’m just being too critical? It just seems unimaginative and I’m all for Team Drayton as I love the park.

Has anyone been able to locate any planning documents from the local authority or otherwise...
I've had a brief search on my lunch hour and not been able to find anything?

I may be getting my bearings mixed up here, but would Entrance 2 effectively open onto this area? Do you think there will be an alteration into entrance and egresses from the park?

I think the building at the back of the concept image is the entrance 2 ticket kiosk (and the old vertigo building).

Unless I'm mistaken, I think the Vertigo building is the new Walhalla restaurant.
I'm not sure, the orientation makes the grey/green building on the concept image look like the Vertigo building and the entrance 2 ticket kiosk isn't actually pictured. But its possible Walhalla is the old vertigo building and the mystery grey/green building is the ticket kiosk.

Yeah the small green roof is one of the park entrances.

It's pretty cool they are getting the UK's first Nebulaz ride. The Disco coaster, whilst not original at all, will prove very popular too as those rides always are.

I do think going off the concept art that the area would really benefit from a centre piece / main photo point. A big Viking theming structure would be really cool. Maybe there will be and the artwork isn't showing it all.

Hats off to them though.
