Drayton Manor Park

Sorry, but the wall with the fake background doesn't look great personally. They would've been better off without then.

You mean, no walls? Looking at a carpark that is caked in mud due to construction vehicles tearing the mud up?

Personally. I think it is fine. Especially for the target market of young toddlers.

My 9 year old is on holiday with his grandparents. So I will wait until he is back and the hype has died down.

It is not the best look for me, or the park, to have a fully grown man, childless, hanging around children's rides.

Jokes aside, I am working, but if it was a major ride, I would make more of an effort. Given that it is not, I am not too fussed. I look forward to seeing photos though @Themeparksandy1981 .

They probably couldn't show a wide shot as it wasn't finished, if the photos from last weekend are anything to go by

Not defending Drayton here, but, this ride is aimed at children 2 years old and above. Given that, the ride height and what not is not at all terrible. A drop that high is going to put most 2 year olds in panic mode.

As for the scenery, what is there and is shown does not objectively look all that bad. It doesn't. I will await full judgement until I see the ride, but I think it is worth remembering this is aimed at children who have barely been born. That is not an excuse to cut corners on scenery, but provides a bit of context into why things may be why they are.

I will reserve full judgement until I see better photos, but the scenery quality shown, does not look any worse (or better) than what is on offer at places such as Alton's children's areas. Combined with the relatively decent theming of the rest of the area, this 'should' compliment it nicely. But, the area did look VERY bare a week ago, so I have my doubts the ride area is going to look complete.

Makes me laugh though, Drayton now have 2 more water rides than the UK's leading park. 2 aimed at children 2 aimed at the older guests. CRR's is barely a water ride at that.

Does seem like some landscaping is in judging by the photos; it's certainly fuller than I was personally expecting considering how close the opening date is given the glimpses of what's there! Willing to bet Harold and/or the Lighthouse will be there in some capacity...maybe even AEG Thomas as well?

It's certainly not as bad as the former Thomas Land at Edaville USA (which I went to opening season thanks to a gift shop naming contest) where that big Boston snowstorm left their Winston station and certain parts of the park unfinished. :p

Come on, lets be fair here.
CRR was toned down because of a tragic accident at Drayton, where negligence was proved...to the tune of a million pound fine...wasn't it?
CRR is a water ride, very clearly, but mismanagement at Drayton forced it to tone down the effects, because of a sad death of a young girl five years ago.
Systematic failure of safety systems at Drayton means a tame ride at Alton, shame that.
Then the park went bust, and apparently the fine wasn't paid...allegedly.

Wishing all going to the grand opening of Submarine Splash this weekend a fun time! Excited to hear how this turned out and hope you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend!

The fact the theming hasn't been installed in time so they've put a ride boat in its place is.... laughable.
Laughable? Really? They’ve got the whole ride, queue line, and major theming elements bar one in place and from what I can tell, have opened on time for one of the busiest weekends of the year, with no opening day downtime. Hardly laughable.

Mind you, I am disappointed they didn’t build a viewing platform for its construction. That’s what I like to pay entrance fees for these days.

They're missing more than one piece of 'major' theming.

It's not exactly a difficult ride to get up and running in a timely manner.
