Drayton Manor Park

These aren't precious artefacts, they're things created with the intention of delighting children. Better running and seen than tucked away in some archive.

Nah I don't agree, You don't see movie props and costumes being dragged out and used or worn for fun so I don't see a difference.

Have replicas built for the layout, and display the originals in a museum somewhere 👍

Only because they're typically bought up by people with the intention of retaining their value as an asset.

Or turned into exhibitions / attractions themselves. Warner Bros. Studio Tour springs to mind, as does Beaulieu and the National Museum of Motoring (a few Bond cars and others), or Cotswold Motoring Museum where you can meet Brum. All of which take good care of their originals, whilst allowing further enjoyment.

Just booked a visit for The Last Stand. I blame @Leigh as for once I didn't come up with the terrible idea.
We're contemplating it, as the Goose flies it's our local park and for both my partner and I, this was the first season we ever rode Shockwave. I've actually got quite a soft spot for it and don't understand the uncomfortableness people complain about. It's nothing on the scale of Colossus or Rita or Saw. Might see you there!

I got on Europe's other (superior) standup this year so might as well have a bash one last time

Evening all.

I've just had to remove an unnecessary amount of posts. Yes I'm sure most have posted with humorous intention, but at this speed it makes it impossible for us to moderate. We have dealt with the situation and it would be great if we could continue with civilised discussion about Drayton Manor.

Any questions or concerns, please PM me.

Thank you.

Have Drayton announced any final merch related to Shockwave's closing event? I know about the pin badge they're giving out with hotel stays but is there anything beyond that?

It would also be nice if the pin badge was purchasable by non-hotel visitors too. As "interesting" as Shockwave is, I am partial to a bit of merch. :p
