Drayton are in desperate need of a new major coaster in my opinion. For me the park no longer has any appeal, there are no rides there that I particularly want to visit the park for; Apocalypse is good and I do like it but it's not enough to attract me back time and time again. I'll currently only go to Drayton if it is say part of an official meet, if it wasn't included as a meet next year I'd quite happily give it a miss for example. And this is coming from someone who has only ever been to the park 3 times (2004, 2011, 2012) so I'm sure it's not just an enthusiast issue.
As for what they get, well anything half decent will do as a half decent coaster would be better than their current offerings. A Mack mega coaster would obviously be brilliant but I don't realistically see this happening. I could however see them getting a Gerstlauer of some sorts, especially if SW7 is popular at Towers. A Gerstlauer launch or Eurofighter wouldn't be that expensive and would probably attract people to the park.
As for this person that toured the park and got told this information, I would really take it with a pinch of salt unless we have confirmation of the person and/or their position who gave them the information. Some people got a behind the scenes tour earlier in the year and were told "future plans" by the person giving them the tour, however this person appeared to be someone in the ride maintenance team who was just either making things up or going off rumours he had heard. For all we know this could be the case again.
