Efteling: General Discussion

The station building is coming along nicely. Credit to ThomVD on CoasterForce:

Surely Efteling can't actually do anything about it?

:)

Not so sure, if Efteling itself is an actual Trademark they probably can.

I can see why it may gripe them in a way because it's wording almost makes it sound like an official review site. That said, I'm quite shocked at the seemingly business aggressive response they've given - they always seemed somewhat more chillaxed :D

Why on earth would they even be bothered? Free marketing surely. Very strange.

:)

I suppose if we paid for a advert outside towers saying "Latest towers news, visit TowersStreet.com" and put it in a typical towers style poster, towers wouldn't be best pleased with us, wherever they can do anything about it or not, they could certainly make life hard for us!

Wow.

That's going to look amazing. Building that to last aren't they!!

I know the hardware is smaller etc, but surely people can appreciate the construction care going into this?

It looks like they're properly building it brick by brick, rather than some slabs of concrete or just a facade. Unless I am mistaken?

As an enthusiast I really do love to see this level of care and attention to detail so far.

It's quite normal for Efteling - they are the masters of building beautiful themed buildings. Just look at Die Vliegende Hollander, for example!

:)

They will have looked at KRAKE. Front row is a joke - they never built a queue for it and it ended up blocking the stairs because so many people wanted it.

A front row queue on a coaster with only three rows is a dangerous move. You do risk there being a huge front row queue and just two other rows to soak up everyone else. With short coaster trains you need strict and efficient batching into all available rows. This is something Towers got spot on with The Smiler.

If everyone else wants to queue for the front row and leave the other 2 rows available then it's fine by me, but one would hope that it'll be thought about carefully, especially when you look at Krake's attempt at one now...

It'll probably have the queue divide up after the pre-show(s)...

Seems bizarre that you need a front row queue for this (or Krake) as I presume the seats are tiered as on the bigger Dive Machines?

The front row massively enhances the experiences on the floorless dive coasters as there's absolutely nothing below/in front of you, so it makes sense to have a separate front row queue, but it will need to be fairly long to deter people when it's full.

After watching these making of videos, I can only assume they chose the name because it's a bit a tongue twister in Dutch!

It interesting that they're filling the tunnel with water after they excavated it, to prevent it "rising up"? Does anyone know what that means or why they'd do it?

:)

Efteling's Aquanura on acid... The Tiësto - Aquanura (or: Tiëstonura) show went on premiere, Tuesday night. The show will be used during events as New Year's Eve and Efteling's Nine Square Fest during the Summer period.
