After the pre-lift drop it really engages the lift with a heavy clunk, which I imagine is what the issues were all about. Clumsy design.
It's certainly becoming more popular for people from the UK to visit, had one work colleague asking me what it's like to visit, and then the next day another telling me they've booked to go next year.
Makes me think I really need to book myself a visit having not been since 2019.
I wouldn't say so, you see a lot more English guests at PortAventura than you do at Efteling due to it's location. Efteling's on the up but I think PA and EP are Infront of Efteling atmDefinitely - I would say it’s now the second most heard of European park behind Disneyland Paris! Their marketing in the UK seems to be working!
Also, around 6 months or so ago a British Mum went viral on Instagram by going to Efteling and raving about how much better and cheaper than Disneyland Paris it was.
as well as rising fears that it's not the most culturally sensitive portrayal of the region it represents
You'd think Carnaval would be first on the chopping block if that was a priority!
They have already re-designed Carnaval to be more culturally appropriate, believe it or not.
Ah, love it when that happens. Top tip: If you have a friend who's more in to something than you are, they've heard about whatever you just saw weeks ago.Yeah loads of people I know saw that and sent it to me thinking they’d got a hot theme park scoop. Oh how I scoffed.
Well it seems it's more the case of something will need to be done to the ride sooner or later since it needs very heavy refurbishments and like you said with other plans being stalled they may simply go all in on making a new version as their big new attraction. From the sounds it sounds like more of a Duel to Curse type situation rather than knock the whole thing down and putting something new there, still the same theme and setting but with a lot of what is currently there being ripped out.Removing Fata certainly would surprise me, however with the expansion plans being stalled perhaps there is some merit to it.
Hmm possibly but it's a pretty small country and the other regions will be off until later in August. It's becoming more and more popular with Brits as well. You could go after Aug 24th as then there's only one region still on holidays. How is everyones Dutch geography? Efteling is in the South region of Netherlands i believe? Just looking at booking again for summer 2025 and it looks like the South region school holidays end Aug 17th so presume the following 2 weeks will be quieter (pretty sure that's what we did this year and it was very tolerable).
