FAILED ROLLERCOASTERS?

Sam said:Well, no I haven't, so I accept that this is just based on photos and videos. But I honestly can't understand what can be that good about it, from watching videos. It simply looks like a really good Figure-of-Eight woodie. I'm willing to accept that there might be something I'm missing, but I'm also suspicious that its absurdly high ranking might be due to people's sentimentality and gratitude towards Knoebels for saving the ride in 1985.![]()
Apparently there's ejector air on every hill. It's not all about the layout, it's about the feelings from the rider's perspective. Lots of air-time = lots of fun.

What about when Doppelmayr decided to give coasters a shot with Vertigo at Walibi Belgium?
A Brief History of Vertigo
Schedualed to open 2006
Opened July 2007
Ran for a few weeks
Closed for the rest of the 2007 season
Track redeigned and built over the closed season
Officially opened 8th May 2008
Closed again 19th May 2008 for remained of the season
December 2008 deconstruction begins
I'd call that quite a fail!
Massive shame though, as I'd have loved to have ridden this

I rode it! And really enjoyed it, actually. It was very pleasant.

I know a guy who used to live in Belgium and who has ridden this. Apparently it used to break down several times a day as it was, and when it did work it was little more than a chairlift. This is though the same guy that claims their SLC is the best coaster he's even been on (and he's ridden Nemesis).
