Fireworks 2021

Before the noise abatement order there always used to be a pre-show from a local radio station. Was very much a party atmosphere and I can remember everyone doing the cha-cha slide across the muddy lawns.I think the addition of some pre show entertainment is a great idea

Got a feeling that's what's happening this year by the looks of it. Could the noise abatement order have ended or something? Before the noise abatement order there always used to be a pre-show from a local radio station.

Oh that sounds exciting!Promisingly, I’ve heard many refer to this year’s show as “the best ever”!

People say that every year.

Full show! (obviously don't watch if you're going today or tomorrow)

*must*not*watch* before I see them live tonight! It’s bad enough seeing all the pictures of them on Facebook haha.
I thought the audio was great and a massive improvement on recent years. The lasers were absolutely fantastic and probably my favourite bit about it. The fireworks themselves were great but I do agree with a previous comment that there was a slight lull in the middle of the show. The beginning and end were epic tho. Loved it and it was miles better than 2018 and 2019 for me.

I'm really not getting people's love for how great the audio quality is this year either, am I the only one who thought it was all too distorted with bass massively overpowering the actual music?!
Could possibly be linked to where you stood, I have not heard this years so cannot comment to much. But what I do know is sound (especially outdoors) can vary massively depending on where you are stood. It is almost impossible to get perfectly balanced sound across the whole area, especially with the large line array / floor standing bass cab setup they are using. This is also usually very noticeable at festivals. They do usually give a good level of balance and pressure to most of the crowd though from what I know.
Bass is always notoriously bad at throwing out to the back of large crowds too, a large part being that the crowd physically absorb the soundwaves, so one method to counteract this, is using more powerful bass cabs, this does lead to the bass appearing to overpower the rest of the audio near the front though, plus, being so far forward you are not usually in the direct path of where the majority of the audio is getting sent out from hanging line array speakers which carry the mid and treble parts of the audio, making the issue worse to your ears. It is not always possible though, to be stood in some of the better positions to get the most out of the audio setup. In the general area of the control booth is usually a good shout though, especially if that is where the audio is being mixed from. As that means that whole area 'should' be flooded in pretty decent sound.
