Flamingo Land: General Discussion

Don’t know if this has been mentioned in this thread before but two of the smaller coasters have been removed. I visited today and noticed that both the Go Gater and Dino Roller have gone from the park. The Dino Roller isn’t a massive loss to be honest as the park has the Runaway Mine Train opposite where it was but I was surprised to see the Go Gater gone. Never did get the cred!

It’s always a shame to see attractions go, but I think it’s fair to say that Flamingo Land had a fair surplus of children’s coasters, so I don’t think either will be overly missed within the lineup provided they’re replaced in due course.

Has there been much progress on their odd project with the Lost River Ride @Shaggy_Dog_? That seems to have taken absolutely ages, and we’ve had radio silence on it for months.

This may be a sign that they're starting to modernise their ride line up with something new coming.

Both of those coasters were 35+ years old and not made by reputable manufacturers.

I wonder if and when Hero will go? 🤔

ARM (UK) are decent enough, they mainly build travelling flat rides.

Cavazza Diego are a bit more interesting, that I will agree on. One of their Nessis we had an E stop on as it wouldn't park properly but released the restraints anyway. Fun times.

I feel that it's perhaps the case that they felt they could lose Dino Roller (and importantly however many hours of staffing it needed across the season) because they have two other junior coasters very close by in Zooom and Runaway Train. I wouldn't be expecting a replacement for Dino Roller any time soon as it always felt a bit redundant having so many junior coasters close by, very much in the same way that the front of Energylandia feels like that as well wherein you could remove one and nobody would really mind or notice too much.

It's hard to know exacly what is going on with Lost River Ride from what you can see of it, but it's clearly quite a big project from the amount of work going on there. The most interesting thing that the height of the drop has been lowered and a new building has been constructed up at the top of the lift hill. Digital Dan has speculated that it could be a Simworx Immersive Superflume project and that could make sense given it could house an interactive dark scene moving the boat around before the drop.

There is also what looks like work on a station building and the trough is being redone as well. However given the length of time it took the park for the park to construct and open Sik I wouldn't be expecting this Lost River Ride project to be completed any time soon. TPWW filmed a vlog at the park the other week and at 36:00 you can get a look at how the site is now.

The tyre driven lift hill on Dino Roller was definitely struggling on my last visit to propel a train full of adult credit hunters around the circuit 😂
