...yet the government still claim they need "more time" to create a decent Hillsborough Law.
"We believe more time is needed to draft the best version of the law."
Cobblers.
"Officials of all organisations must engage and cooperate with such inquiries and tell the truth."
That'll do.

Yep who'd of thought getting people the public are supposed to trust to look after them to agree to tell the truth would be so difficult......yet the government still claim they need "more time" to create a decent Hillsborough Law.

It was 5th birthday party that day. My old man and my uncle went. I can remember it being on the Tele when we got back, it would have been around that time I first took notice of Liverpool Football Club. I was plonked in front of the Tele at kick off. Was promptly removed when an adult walked back in the room. Sound of a phone ringing followed by "thank god your ok" was herd from the kitchen. He told me not so long back, some women allowed several people to use her phone for 10p a pop.
Football is a different beast to what it was then. If memory serves me well, the BBC showed it on BBC2 and preferred the snooker on BBC1. Hillsborough changed everything. It forced football to look at it's self. Forced changes in policy and policing. Created a world of safe stadium. It's a shame that took 39 deaths at Heysel. 56 at Bradford and 97 at Hillsborough.
We need this law. I had the unfortunate situation where I was talking to a police lawyer, who was representing Bettison and he boasted that the families do not have a leg to stand on because the system will win. And it has. Thatcher really had SYP backs, after the cracking job at Orgreave. The similarities in the cover ups are incredible.

I'll be at Sheff Wed's game against Middlesbrough this afternoon, not expecting us to win though given our recent form. Wasn't planning to go until I saw that today's fixture was the last "Golden Ticket" fixture of the season (an extra draw alongside the usual Owls Foundation half-time raffle, with exclusive prizes). That was the incentive I needed lol.

Had very little luck with the members ballots for the second half of the season just the derby and Spurs. Will obviously be trying to get tickets for Arsenal and Palace but would prefer to watch the last game with friends than on my own in the ground.I'll be there. Got the last game aswell.

I'm lucky, i got membership in the early 2000's, so my credits are full.

Stupidly got to 13+ a few times under Rafa and then Kenny but then dropped down to 4+ in following seasons due to cash issues. Seemed easier back then despite the smaller capacity, maybe the individual sales helped.I'm lucky, i got membership in the early 2000's, so my credits are full.
Then the first season the main stand opened had some amazing luck with getting the £9 tickets initially but stupidly didn't use that to get the guaranteed sales the next season and eventually those saes were ruined by touts, so since then it's been 4+ sales and all the autocup schemes. Start of this season thought I'd have a chance after getting to a good number of early games, but as we've rolled towards the title tickets from any sources have just dried up. Be crossing my fingers for the Arsenal and Palace ballots though.
Pub tomorrow night with friends as well just in case.

I start work at 4am, I will be bed.
I managed to keep.my credits going due to an arrangement with the old man.
I built mine up during the Hodgeson era. Even did aways then. Including that awful night Blackburn. We used to do the "restricted" seats in the old main stand.
Strange how footie has changed. Even a league cup game is hard to get tickets for. First game I went to. Liverpool v port vale. League cup 29/10/91. Drew 2-2. Rush and mcmanaman. Attendance 21k. When I found the game on YouTube you can see is sat in kemlyn, empty seats around. Even Kop had spaces.

Yeah used to always be if you wanted to get to Anfield hope for early league cup and FA cup rounds against lower league opposition but now there all sold out as well.
Even look back at the Monaco and Deportivo champions league games in autumn 2004 and there's plenty of empty seats in the Anfield Road End.
Have to say them changing the loyalty system just before then so cup final tickets were specifically linked to competition attendance really led to improved attendances in cup games.

Just a pity corporate seats at the finals push the season tickets out. Happened to me twice, don't attend cup games anymore
FA Cup Semis have 30k allocation for each team. Presumably similar for the final of that and League Cup.
Football isn't much for the people anymore. Clubs want those who'll spend £100s in the shop before the game, rather than those who buy a season ticket and maybe a shirt but spend match days at the considerably cheaper locals.
On other side, 2 easy to get to away games confirmed for next season. Mrs has mentioned about looking at an away season ticket but I'm unsure. Especially why Sky like to put games on a Monday night on the regular.

Think it was about 32,000 for the league cup final this season. I've managed to get on the league cup aways ladder and went to Spurs away in January so with having attended the home games was guaranteed a final ticket.
In 2022 I got a semi final ticket in the ballot but then didn't get a final ticket annoyingly.
However for European finals since I've regularly gone to matches we've reached 5 European finals and I've not got a ticket in the ballot once.
