Galactica: General Discussion

Did think of this thread whilst watching TPWW review of Universal Osaka and the flying coaster there, where the 3 train operations were so good they were slowing the lift hill as the train in front hadn’t reached the brake run.

I believe Air also does that from what ive seen on numerous POVs.

Funny you mention him, I was gonna bring up his vlog at Nagashima Spa Land, in which they have a flying roller coaster called Acrobat, which has the same track colour as Air, but it actually has a themed landscape and water effects. I does remind me of what Air could've been.

If - and it's a big if - it gets a repaint over winter, I think I'd like to see it painted very dark blue, maybe with stars and galaxies on the spine of the track. But of course any additions like that run the risk of it looking like a glorified fun fair ride but even so, if they are going for a phalanx space feel then the cyan-y blue it currently is doesn't really fit. Would they need planning permission to change the colour of the track?

It's not visible from outside the park so doubtful

Another little update on this, on their second blog they went back row and said it was the most intense flyer and one of the most intense rides they’ve ever been on! To the point Shawn had to sit down for 20 minutes after which I’ve never seen. He said he was amazed it passed the physics modelling stage.

Is Galactica intense? Are they both B&M?

The only flyer I’ve been on is Batman at 6 Flags adventure which wasn’t notably intense imo, though that’s the weird flyer where you tilt back rather than forward out the station (if that makes any difference).

To my very good friend Lynne, Air was both memorable and intense, the last coaster she did with us, and she still mentions it.
Bit of a librarian though...

It's the Pretzel loop that's the intense bit I think, those pull serious Gs

yeah, I managed to get on manta at orlando, the pretzel loop is really good, it is my favourate element on a rollercoaster, there is nothing alike, it is just having out chest pressed into the seat, similar to the lie section of galactica, but more intence and sustained, like launching on rita/stealth constanly

I just saw today the RAP are merging at the same point as the fast track, instead of going down the former single ride line, I think it makes sence and elevates some problems the right station was having and probably reduces the rap queue length.

I wonder if they could add single rider back in like spinball (although it looks like it would be really tight)

Also opps were amazing earlier today, I didn't see a train stack and there was one station with no train quite often

They also have stickers on the train saying the exit it at the back
