I assume all this fireworks branding was signed off a long time ago. We’ve heard rumours that the Galactica retheme has been scrapped for next year so perhaps this very Galactica looking branding was meant to be an announcement for this.
Where has this notion that any proposed works have been scrapped come from?
That's what I wonder, nothing has been confirmed but certainly speculation is out there about recent Merlin budget cuts affecting a potential Galactica retheme/works.

I'm not sure it has been scrapped at all following tweaks shown on Theme Park Guide from the last post to the boarding videos.

Whilst it’s clear that Towers have been cutting costs in the recent months, it’s a long jump to suggest they’ll be cancelling all planned works - as much as certain influencers and the like are putting two and two together and reporting it as fact.

Agreed.

OpEx has certainly been cut back this year across the resort theme park group, most likely in response to lower guest numbers than originally forecast.

However CapEx appears to be flowing still - with Project Ocean at Towers. the two new areas at Chessington and the recently announced events area at Thorpe.

What has really pricked my ears is the consistent hints towards galactica, even actors saying “good EVE-ning” over and over (you know… Eve).

I think whilst the clear budget cuts to staffing are very sad, it does not necessarily mean that there are severe cuts to refurbishment budgets. Outsourcing themeing must clearly be a cost effective option, just look at what paultons did with tornado springs!

With all the Easter eggs around galactica in the expo, this will be planned for 2025. Communications and marketing will be planned to a T to trickle down at the right time to get maximum impact for marketing - it’s got all of us talking!

Perhaps ocean will be the early season opening and galactica could be more of a summer focus?

I would imagine they would prefer the opposite way round (Galactica open, then ocean) for capacity as not having one of the big 7 open for part of the year wouldn't be good although if they were doing other mechanical work at the same time (perhaps it could be new seats, to improve dispatching and reduce down time from mecs having to take a seat out) then it could make sense if that mechanical work was wanted/required and would take longer than the down season.

Fair enough, I wasn't sure as I'd never seen it. I'm not sure anything will be happening with it for next year. I think it might've been the plan but has been scrapped for budgetary reasons.

You don't spend months, or years, designing the retheme of a ride, and spending untold tens, or even hundreds, of thousands of pounds to suddenly scrap it at the last moment.

If a retheme was planned, it will happen. If a retheme wasn't planned, and it was just thoosie vapours, then it won't happen.
