Odd with CRR. Went on it last week just me and my pal. Got pretty wet and the famous KFC wave was in full force, big wave straight over onto my back.

I don't think it's as bad as people make out, just seems the same to me minus the waterfalls, which barely touched you anyway. Still can't stand the 'underground car park' section though.

The wave pools by the RMT's final bend and after the tunnel are both turned off as far as I know? The one just before the waterfalls was removed several entirely several years ago.

Those two things aren't divorced from each other though, the reduced capacity of the rides should inform the reduced capacity of the park.

It's clear that the park have had a bad couple of days with downtime. Some of this can be unforgivable considering Merlin do in fact seem to have far worse problems than most other park operators in this regard, especially considering similar hardware works alot harder, sometimes year round, in far tougher climates than those in the UK Merlin parks. I wouldn't blame the hardware or the work of the skilled and dedicated tech services teams either , who I think, do a fantastic job. Whether it's budgetary restraints of processes and procedures, there's something wrong somewhere.

I don't think park capacity is a problem either. It really is downtime that's causing the issues. To be completely fair to the park, this year we've seen loads of 10 hour days, early ride openings, temp flats drafted in to increase capacity, new events to keep people entertained and give them more things to do and fewer closed days. This is on top of the fact that AT is a massive park, with beautiful gardens to explore and the Towers ruins to visit. It's easy to say they're letting too many people in when you have a season pass or MAP and just want to pop in to whore a select few coasters on a day when everything has broken down. I'd much prefer they focused on getting their house in order in terms of ride reliability than slashing visitor numbers.

There were plenty of chances to whore rides back to back in a deserted, lifeless, barren park for 6 hour days in the last few years. I don't think there were many of us that were applauding those years at the time. I'd prefer they set their sites high, it's the lifeblood of this industry.

Also I think that due to the ease that newspaper headlines are made from the slightest thing like a lift hill evac I think they are also playing it safe and taking longer to re-open things than they would have done before.
That could be a good thing in that they are certain the ride is safe and sorted before re-opening, but it also brings about more down time and potentially stops the tech team moving onto the next issue as quickly.

I recall saying a few months ago that this summer is an opportunity for Alton Towers to get back the money they lost in the lockdowns and regain visitors as international travel is restricted and everyone is eager to get out but the park needs to be ready for those visitors. They have risen to the challenge admirably: the opening hours, events and new rides have all helped with this. It's not all perfect, as well as the issues @Matt.GC stated above, customer service from outside the park is almost non-existent and the park's social media pages are littered with people who can't get through to the park. I think the park are nearly there and if they play their cards right (and pray that phase 4 doesn't get delayed), this could be the park's most successful summer since the 90s!

It seems all fastrack is sold out for tommorow. Looks like it'll be a busy one for fastrack, which doesn't help the main queues at all

I think the rapids normally opens at 11am anyway as its not often a ride people do first thing!

But no Nemesis or Galactica is bad for FV.

The rapids does open at 11am - not great for an early reliability start though. Not that it gets a massive queue anyway but Roller Disco is down as well.

Looks like a much better day today with a good mix of 10 rides (not including the really small stuff) all reporting 30 minute queues or less: Duel, FFF, Marauders, Blade, Hex, Roller Disco, Enterprise, Galactica, Nemesis, FnF

Everything that can open under present government guidance is now open, which is great to see; well done, Towers!

As such, queues also don’t seem to be hitting quite the dizzy heights they were earlier in the week, for the most part; other than WM on 120 and Thirteen on 100, all of the major thrill rides are below 100 minutes, which is great to see!

GG is also on 140, with the only other family rides with queues of an hour or above being Octonauts on 70, In the Night Garden on 70, Get Set Go on 65 and RMT on 60.

Although I can't stand the idea of being in the park on days as busy as today, it is great to see the place so busy. With it being 6 years since the crash, it's great to see the park has bounced back so much.

I'm assuming they made a mistake with the GG queue time and it's supposed to say 120 not 220!

It’s apparently “closed due to full capacity” at 150 minutes, so I’d say they might have made a mistake!

Looks to be another very busy day on the park today with thirteen at 2 hours and Wickerman just under 3 hours at the moment with spin ball being the only ride closed at present.
