Karl Pilkington appreciation thread

Basically, post your favourite Pilko quotes on here...
This genius needs more recognition on the TSF
I will start with:
'It's not the great wall of china, more like the alright wall of china. It's the alright wall of china.'
Quality.

His face throughout the majority of every episode is priceless. That man is a legend!

I abselutely love Karl Pilkington! I constantly listen to the podcasts when I'm in work, they are so funny.

"I don't like fun"

"The other day, right, I was just sitting in my garden...slathering"

"The coldness gets rid of the badness"

I also love his 'cryptic clues' on Rockbusters, especially the bizzare logic you have to use in order to get them right.

"It looks like it's sh*t itself"

Another personal favourite of mine is Karl's Diary on the podcasts
' I wanted to see the fat man get in the kayak, but Suzzanne said we had to go'
He's great.

Shitty nappies wizzling through the air...They don't show you that in the brochure. :)

And

Ricky loves sending me texts cus he knows I have to pay for it. Look this one just says 70p!

He does go on about it a lot though. Season 3 is practically just kidney stones and insects.

One of my favourite Karl moments is when he takes Suzanne to the Cotswalds for her birthday. All they do is walk round a carpark and look at gravestones to see how old the dead people are. I do feel bad for Suzanne, Karl doesn't exactly seem like he'd be the perfect boyfriend - one Christmas he got her an industrial-sized bag of condoms, and Grease on DVD. If someone got me that as a present I think I'd have to murder them

This is the problem with over-crowded inner-city schools there aren't enough parts for everyone in the nativity story

I really wish that Karl had been sent to Disneyworld on Idiot Abroad. He would absolutely hate it. It would make for hilarious television! :D

The first series was hilarious.

Everything since has been awful. For the same reason Top Gear has been awful for about 5 years. He's playing a character and it's so clearly scripted.

I don't see how things possibly being scripted makes them any less funny. They're entertainment programmes not documentaries. You have to suspend any notion that it's completely serious for the purposes of laughing. Top Gear has not got worse, and an Idiot Abroad was just as funny in season 2 and 3 as it was in the first (if not funnier).

The whole comedy came from the spontaneous things Karl said and did. They're not funny when you can tell it's predetermined and predictable. Same for Top Gear where you know exactly what's going to happen. At least Top Gear does have the decency to regularly admit it's predictable, playing to characters and not what it once was.

And season 3 was massively uncomfortable, laughing at dwarfism stopped being funny a long time ago.
