Legoland Windsor

I’m not convinced this question is in good faith but I’ll give it a go anyway.

A theme park putting on an event that costs them additional money to operate during off peak dates would be a poor business move as even if a portion of families do attend through means of truancy it’s unlikely to be enough to offset the additional costs.

Presumably Legoland have an idea of anticipated visitor numbers in conjunction with term dates and plan their events accordingly.

Whilst there is evidence that school attendance has fallen post Covid I don’t think the numbers would warrant a change of policy by Legoland, nor would it be a good look for them to be seen to be encouraging truancy with events aimed at children during term time.

As an aside the majority of increases in lower attendance are due to a shortfall in SEN education places as opposed to truancy but that’s another thread.

You’ve made a great point about SEN education. There’s been times our sons been beside himself trying to go school so we’ve taken him out of school and for a day out to stimulate him.

Like school holidays. He can’t cope with the busyness so we go in school term. Although this year have a massive battle with Warwickshire council about fines imposed for our other children!

Yeah, for many years I took kids on the border of exclusion to parks as an educational reward outing...doing loads of education stuff on the day, often tied in with pre review stuff for care meetings.
Needless to say, some of the best care work I ever did with clients was lengthy "family" chats in the queueline for nemesis.
Only for a decade or so...

Then they tightened up all the silly attendance rules, and headteacher discretion went right out of the window.

Now that Merlin have announced the company they will be outsourcing entertainment to - does this mean the pirate and puppet shows will be back soon?

Quite a few interesting things going on at Legoland today!

Firstly, someone is definitely reading my posts at Merlin because they FINALLY started selling pizza by the slice!

Over by Lego City there was some construction going on, looks like new theming rather than a ride or shop but hard to tell:

Didn't get a photo but the former puppet show by Duplo was also under construction so will be interesting to see what that is becoming.

And obviously all the entrance construction too, though nothing much to see there yet.

Park was generally quiet by Easter standards with most of the big attractions 30 min or less. The MAP curse lifted.

The works in Lego City and Duplo Theatre are likely prep for the Lego Festival event:
