Lightwater Valley

It's had 2 incidents close together, hence it seeming worse. 2 deaths and 2 life changing injuries in a decade isn't that bad per se, considering how many riders you get in a decade
I should have been clearer, I was thinking about the UK theme park industry as a whole where we've had The Smiler, Tsunami, Splash Canyon and Twister in the space of 5 years.

The problem you got now is social media as there was accidents and deaths in the past but it may have only been shown on local news.
This will tell u more about accidents without going off topic

If the Ultimate did close will they sell that area of the park as watching YouTube videos it goes quite far out.
Having been on the Ultimate before, it does stretch out a long way about 1 mile from the park i think and it's loads of land and I still dunno why we never had any more rides the other side, probably to do with the nature round there but still it hasn't been great for accidents tbh and the outcome is Twister is sold, Smiler stands and operates, Tsunami is stacked in a car park and Splash Canyon is sbno!

Something tells me that The Ultimate may never operate again, which would be a pity.

If there is a remote possibility of someone building a new theme park at Camelot, I’d like to think that The Ultimate could go there, but probably wouldn’t work on that site. If it did, I would offer to help move it piece by piece. We can’t lose that ride

I have, yes. But if The Ultimate was to go then there would never really be any reason at all to visit Lightwater.

Or Yorkshire really.

@rob666 get back in your cage or I will add ‘leg of dog, with chilli jam relish’ to my Xmas dinner. Again.

Interestingly, there are now rumours that all of the park’s thrill rides will be closing after 2020 (so that’s Ultimate and Raptor Attack, amongst other things), and that the park will be targeted solely towards families and young children going forward.

I’ll be intrigued to see whether this happens, as that would majorly downscale the operation if it did.

The Ultimate and Raptor Attack both represent something unique in the UK, The Ultimate is probably unique in the world.

They would both be hugely missed.

The park itself, not especially.

I’d be surprised if Raptor Attack was to close, as it doesn’t appear to be an expensive ride to run - it’s just a wildcat in a shed?!

It could easily be the headline attraction of a tween park without looking out of place.
