Nemesis Reborn: General Discussion

So yesterday I was lucky enough to be invited along to take part in the brand new Nemesis Reborn behind the scenes experience as part of the content creator program for TowersStreet, with 11 others. We were chosen at random from all those on the content creator program.

I won’t go into full details to spoil any of it if people have it booked, but it includes a walk up the lift him, walk along the transfer track, the station and also a chance to go inside the bunker, which is below the station. That was definitely one of the highlights of the tour (and unfortunately the part we couldn’t take any photos or videos), but it was really interesting to see all the tech side of things, most of which is brand new for reborn, but there are a few bits left from original Nemesis as well.

Of course the actual lift hill walk was really good, and we had an amazing evening for it with amazing sunshine. You really can see for miles from the top of it, also gave some interesting views of Toxicator and the monorail going past.

At the end you are given a certificate and pin badge.

I would like to say thanks to all the staff who stayed extra to give the tour, they were all really friendly and knowledgeable about the ride.

Here’s a few photos that I managed to take:

Thanks for sharing!

I'd be interested to know what's so secret under the station? It's not as if there's anything with artistic copyright under there.... is it?
If we're talking about directly under the station then it used to be where we stored the bin bags, detergents, mops and buckets. Not exciting at all 😂

Maybe @djtruefitt is referring to the electrical room located by the merge point.

Yes that's the electrical room where the PLCs, relays and motor controllers are, as well as the water pump controls and the audio cabinet. They used to store some spare parts in here too.

There's a few pics on the old ATA gallery:

I've got quite a few pictures of the computer / electrical room under the station (of the original Nemesis incarnation). I'll dig them out later - they are on my old Windows PC - and upload them. I can't figure why this was a "no photography" area of the tour as ride computer / electrical rooms are actually pretty boring, especially if all the cabinet doors are closed.

I wonder if it's because there's technical drawings of the ride in this room. I've heard B&M don't like people taking photos of them.

I could imagine a few reasons, they also don't allow photography in the ops room on other walks (the place behind the glass), I would guess this may be from B&M to prevent people seeing how they are running the ride (what components they are using, and how they are connected) seeing the cabinates may not seem like much information, but people may be able find out quite a bit about a system from seeing little of it (the types and number of wires going it, etc).

it also may be a merlin thing, not wanting people to see how the rides are run for a few reasons (keeping some secrets, etc) but I also could see for a PR view point, imagine if there was a fix and there was some parts stored in the area, or if the area wasn't cleaned often, etc it would be fine but I could see how the SUN or something could make a sensational article about how dirty some of the machine rooms was, and thus how unsafe the rides must be, etc, etc, etc

There wasn’t any technical drawings or anything like that. But they basically wanted it to be a nice surprise for those doing the behind the scenes tour. They have put quite a few bits from the archives in there from original nemesis, as well as reborn. Some storyboards, signage etc.
Damnit, all the more reason to take photos! 🤣
