Nemesis Reborn: General Discussion

It's a custom spherical led display. May be susceptible the odd 'pixel' failure as it ages, but you'd assume they wouldn't make it too hard to fix or replace.
They could always copy thorpe parks entrance and make the eye smaller and put the black pixels around the sides.

This has recently been posted on Facebook by JP Showsystems who were involved in the effects on Nemesis Reborn. One thing to notice is the scaffolding around the big claw near the Nemesis eye. This has always been rumoured to move but it never has.

So maybe now it’s closed season they have returned to finish it/fix it and we might see this working in March?

I mean unless something structural has happened to that "claw" or the theming needing cosmetic repairs, why else would scaffolding be round that piece of theming specifically?

Interesting video from Ryan the Ride Mechanic about the varying price in ride projects. He explains what can cause the price of rides to be vastly different from project to project, even when they are cookie-cutter. Including whether the ride is elevated or subterranean, and whether the park has to supply and source parts within the ride themselves.

Which likely means that the investment of Reborn vs the OG Nemesis were vastly different (even when excluding design and landscaping costs). I recall that major components from the original Nemesis were refurbished, which may have been cheaper than buying new materials outright. As well as the subterranean elements of Nemesis meaning that the cost of steel would have been lower than another B&M invert on flat ground (although this cost is likely offset by the increased complexity in construction).

He also provides a convincing argument as to why we don't see examples like Merlin/Towers splash around price tags often with new additions. As manufacturers really don't like putting a price tag out there so chains/parks can't compare what they've paid for products, as this may harm rapport between the manufacturer and the park, because one park may have a completely different warranty agreement with the manufacturer and thus pay a vastly different price even when adjusting for currency valuations and inflation.

I'm sure this is probably common sense to a fair few individuals on the forum, but I think the insights are worth sharing to everyone regardless!
