There were lights pointing towards the FastTrack waterfall last year so it looks as if it was planned to be on, they added a small concrete wall blocking the water from pouring onto the support when the re-track happened too. The helix waterfall lasted till May if i remember rightly and the first drop one i have no clue but it was pretty weak anyways it wasn't flowing properly. Would help if they cleaned the gravel out first...

I have noticed that the images of Nemesis (with riders on board) on Google Maps state that they were taken from May 2023 (see link below) - but this surely can't be correct, as the ride was not operational during the 2023 season?

The images are also marked as "Nemesis Reborn Pie" (also in link below); I don't understand the "pie" reference, but it must be a rollercoaster joke of some description, as I remember Digital Dan stating that rides at Chessington have been renamed to "pie" on Google Maps as well ?

I saw the pie thing come up on Nemesis and SubTerra, apparently 35 is an age of bitterness because I keep sending submissions to change them back , I really don't understand it though, just like the The Smiler had been labeled The Smile Sigma which again I have no bloody idea what It is meant to mean.

Some updates from this weekend.
Helix waterfall is back, again! rockwork is still damaged and it runs into a pool of gravel but nice to have back nonetheless. Hopefully will last more than 2 months this time.

First drop & Lift waterfalls had trickles coming from them and are very overgrown so clearly no intentions of trying to revive them anytime soon.

The dreaded playground fences have spread further and been installed against the rocks in the fasttrack / old main queue, would've been nice if they matched the style of the older fences.

Curiously I noticed Paultons are using those same fences around their new coaster. I know a lot of the building regs have been updated, I can’t be bothered to look but wonder if that fence style is now required for new coasters perimeter fencing.

There's only ever been 3 hasn't there? The one that has been on last season, the helix and the first drop one by the now fast track queue-line.

There were 4 originally and they still all worked 10 ish years ago as far as I remember. Under the first drop, under the helix and 2 coming down opposite sides of the pit for the loop!

I’d be curious to know if anything’s actually changed which makes them run less frequently than before.

It would probably be cost of insurance and the park's internal H&S sign off more than building regulations. In the UK building regs tend to be criteria based for construction materials, rather than prescriptive, ie not specificying exact designs of things (fencing).

The old helix fencing was more bespoke and was presumably removed to allow the retracking, so would have been more fuss to insure / sign off anew, but the new fencing is a standardised design used in all sorts of places, so easier to insure / sign off. Any original fencing that stayed in place during the retracking I suppose would be easier to insure, since they had stayed in place with no issues for years. If they'd added more new fencing this year, maybe the original just needed replacing and it was again easier to go with the new style.

I’d be intrigued to see the risk assessment comparison between a sheer rock face and an anti climb fence which gives people something to use

Embarrassing

A big shout as to why the rapids will be out as the H&S brigade won’t let people on a moving platform get into a boat next to water.

The utter un-themed ugliness of their installations now knows no bounds.

I’m glad the consultants justified their pay checks some more. Never mind the raft of rides around the park which don’t have this.
