Nemesis: Sub-Terra

The only time some shouting made sense was the exit as something had "gone wrong" and you need to exit quickly.

But insulting peoples appearance had no part in the story.
On the last day of the season the staff were receiving some absolute torrential abuse from some kids. So bad I wouldn’t even repeat it.

I agree, times have changed, but they do similar in the dungeons regarding the size of peoples “manhood” it’s not for me, some people may find it funny. It’s not going to be Karen’s diner, it’s a family theme park.

We need this back now. Forbidden Valley is so bad without Nemesis.

But the torturer at the dungeon doesn’t make fun of someone’s appearance, they pick someone out at random and play out scripted entertainment with them around what torture implements are used for. It doesn’t matter how big their manhood is inside their pants, the joke works no matter which spectator is chosen.

Whereas from what was said about the Sub-Terra staff they picked on how someone looked, it wasn’t scripted, it doesn’t happen to one random person in every group, it was just someone choosing to be mean to someone else.

Someone in the gym told me I look like Alan out of the hangover recently, which was a low point.

On a serious note they shouldn’t mention people’s appearance unless it’s reference to a football team shirt they’re wearing or something. Some people (like me) will take it in the spirit that it’s likely intended, others will take it extremely badly and the reality is you never know who you’re dealing with as so far as I’m aware there’s no warning of it prior to queuing for the ride.

I don’t have an issue with the shouting though, think it adds to the tension.

Just saw a video online, it's disappeared from my Twitter feed but if I see it again I will edit this post and attach it in.
You can hear the drop towers in action as they drop, and the "10 9 8 7 6 etc detonation initiated" announcements playing after guests would usually leave into the exit lift! The sound of the towers dropping appears to be after the announcement at the moment though, but I'd say that's definitely what it was

Good to see everything is being tested. I wouldn't think to much of the countdown playing before teh drop, ther is some cuts in the video, and they have no particular reason to test teh show in sequence. In addition, they may have done an audion run, and then a full sequence run. Seems pretty certain at this point that there is going to be very little change from the original, something I am personally looking forward to.

I've just realised the video is in two cuts you're correct, so yes probably still the same order as before

The countdown for Black Hole Nemesis coming home...wait a minute, wrong ride I'm talking about, or could I be right? Rather confusing now that I think about it :p

But someone posted a photo of some limescale on the seats so this can’t be correct.

Bit of isopropyl alcohol diluted 1:2 in water on a cloth will deal with that, and kill any bacteria living on there too. Might cause all hell with the paint/ dies in the seat though.

Was tongue in cheek mate as the photos in question were accompanied by something along the lines of ‘good luck getting that open this season,’ when it clearly looked like it just needed a good clean.

Needed up that end of the park desperately. Funk’n’Fly was shut all day today meaning Galactica and The Blade were the only rides open in that area. Not as accessible for some people with the Sky Ride down, although I’m guessing the area still gets busy because The Curse at Alton Manor is the closest ride to Forbidden Valley. Hopefully soon 🤞🏻

Just thinking of the best time for Towers to open this?

Could it be for May bank holiday? We still have no marketing and absolute silence from Alton Towers.

As soon as possible I'd say, the negative feedback on queues and breakdowns is starting to snowball. Start of May for the Bank/school holidays seems almost critical now.
100%. I know people have said hold off for when big crowds can get in, but I'd do it as soon as possible. Still no Spinball and Hex out for the foreseeable. If it has to re-open on a quiet weekday to bed back in, then so be it!

It’ll be interesting to see if Towers make any fuss about this reopening, or simply open it quietly one weekday with no announcement.

When’s the Nemesis walkway opening? Could both coincide with one another?

Either way it will be good to see Sub-Terra back in action.

I still think the proximity of the platform to the ST entrance, combined with the fact it has a railing running down the centre, it could be an extended queue space. Have some screens under the sheltered part linking the ride to the Nemesis works et voila

I just can’t see the logic in this as they’ve built it over what was already extended queue space, making that queue space now unusable.

Suspect both will open at a similar time and they’ll be some sort of link though.

Hex will definitely be back, they're not letting a ride like that go! This is needed more than ever now though.

You say this, and I’d agree, but at what point do they have to decide to basically replace the mechanism of it?

Wrong thread for it but the ride is constantly out of action, you feel major works are needed if the plan is to retain it long termZ
