That lift hill seems very steep!

Re: Nigloland 2014: Alpina Blitz - Mack Megacoaster

I assume it's due to the compact space it's being built in?

Steeper lift hills are probably cheaper to build too, due to the compact nature you can acheive from them...

I'm quite interested in this, the park looks decent as well...

Re: Nigloland 2014: Alpina Blitz - Mack Megacoaster

I love how Nigloland is essentially becoming a budget Europa-Park. That said, the park really looks very pleasant, and this addition will easily place it as the 3rd best regular theme park in France I would imagine (I exclude Futuroscope and Puy de Fou). As it has stood, simply due to Walygator having a B&M has probably pushed it into that place up until now. However, with Nigloland already having a solid line up of family rollercoasters, I think it's probably into 3rd now!

:)

Looks like I'm going to have to visit

Re: Nigloland 2014: Alpina Blitz - Mack Megacoaster

According to a long-term poster over on TPR, a quote from someone at Mack during IAAPA:

I have been told at IAAPA that it will have a completely different layout than Storm. This will have more airtime! Only the height will be the same.

Also, Nigloland are claiming the height restriction for Alpina Blitz is 1.35m - this is higher than Blue Fire, which is 1.3m. They are claiming it will be an extreme ride, although we must wait and see for this, as Mack aren't (yet) known for doing particularly intense layouts on their megacoaster model.

:)

Someone on TPR also posted the following picture of the turn being constructed in the images we've already posted:

It's not really akin to Blue Fire anyway. To me, this is likely to be more of a Megalite but presumably less ejector airtime.

Looking awesome! But will it hold a candle to Blue fire?

Does that actually matter though?

Well depends, but its the first thing that comes to most enthusiasts mind when Mack megacoasters are mentioned is Blue fire and has become an iconic coaster, for Mack as a company/manufacture. However, with Helix on the way, I think that would take alot of the spotlight away from Blue fire. Anyway, I think its a fair question to ask though.

But as AstroDan pointed out, it will be a different type of ride experiance, most likely.

Re: Nigloland 2014: Alpina Blitz - Mack Megacoaster

My point is that if people already start comparing a ride to another then it might end up being rather unfairly rated in a way...

If we go on a ride with preconceptions, then rather than forming an opinion on it, the opinion tends to suit the original thoughts... It's not fair to judge a new ride in direct comparison to something, sure there will be expectations of how it rides, but Blue Fire should not make a difference to the opinions of this ride when ridden...

The rumour says it is going to be as good as an Intamin, with the same airtimes.
Cant wait to see if it is true!

Re: Nigloland 2014: Alpina Blitz - Mack Megacoaster

We'll see - I read the same.

But I will believe it only when ridden.

Re: Nigloland 2014: Alpina Blitz - Mack Megacoaster

Really looking forward to hopefully getting to ride this next year. It looks very interesting!
