Maybe Disney are in talks with them and the Welsh government to create Disneyland Wales, a competitor for Universal GBNo matter how fantastical RLP’s plans might have been, it does seem odd for Aspro to reject any notion of someone taking the park off their hands.
What good is it doing to anyone, including Aspro themselves, staying in Aspro’s ownership crumbling away? Aspro are still having to pay for site security, power and basic site maintenance even when not operating the park and bringing in no money from it, so surely it makes more sense for them to offload to a bidder who wants it and can stump up the cash?
Currently, the park is arguably still in a usable condition to an extent that someone could make something of it if they wanted to buy it. That won’t be the case forever, and I imagine the land will only grow harder to sell the more derelict Oakwood grows.
It’s also not like the park is in a particularly desirable location for housing or industrial development, so I’d imagine the number of potential buyers wanting to put the land to alternative use is quite low. If I were Aspro, I’d be biting the hand off of anyone who offered to take Oakwood off my hands!
