Thats probably Merlin corporate discount. Many companies and businesses allow their employees to get discounted tickets and annual passes, rather than it being a public thing.Slugjc said:The missies works for thomson and you 40% off if you book through them. May have to go into shop and check.

NUS Extra card holders can get tickets for £25 at the moment when booking over the phone, obviously not as good as 2-for-1 on the day but good for odd numbers of people, or if looking for ERT
Strange as it's advertised for £27.50 online and shows up on the ticket as a May offer, not sure if this means it's only bookable IN May of only bookable FOR May (I booked FOR May so not sure :S).

It's worth noting this on that: "Voucher entitles holder to one FREE ENTRY per voucher and per full paying adult when accompanied by the holder’s
individual Coke Zone reward email."

Although should've mentioned it wasn't valid on Fridays/Saturdays, mybad! :-[
Actually the free parking and hot drink vouchers don't say you need an under 4, only the half price entry, so should be fine (but could be wrong though :S)Scott said:Just to point out with this... It's only valid when visiting with an Under 4 and only on Sunday-Thursdays![]()

The vouchers say they need to be used with the half price voucher - which needs an under 4 to be used. It's still a good find though! Hope I didn't come across as having a go anyway, just delved into the Ts and Cs to help out

Re: 2013: Offers, Deals and Vouchers
It's my fault for being stubborn about it
It's strange though as all it says in the parking voucher T&C's is "Voucher must be used in the same transaction as the entrance ticket purchase" and doesn't actually mention the accompanied 1/2 off voucher at all :S. It implied it can be used with any ticket purchase, so you can see my confusion :'(
Anyway that's me done! ;D

But as both can only be used in conjunction with the under 4 voucher, you still need kiddie to be using the voucher!
Good deal though, if you have kiddies.

Re: 2013: Offers, Deals and Vouchers
Sorry for being slow on the uptake here, I haven't been to the park for years and don't recall ever paying for parking. Maybe I did. Anyway, how does this work - I assume you pay £6 in your car when you enter the car-parking area and then pay £xx for your tickets at the booths near the turnstile entrances. So how do these vouchers work if they need to be used together?
Thanks! Going on Wed and long to save any pennies I can...

You have to get a parking token from one of the machines just inside the entrance gates and give it to the person in the booth on your way out of the car park. Try to get it towards the beginning of the day as well - that way, you won't have to spend time queuing at the end of the day.

Re: 2013: Offers, Deals and Vouchers
Thank you for the reply.
And going off on a little rant - as someone going to the Water Park on one day and the Theme Park the next (but staying offsite between), with 2 Seniors, 2 Adults, 1 Child and 1 Under 4 - The Alton Towers pricing is totally insane and detracts from the overall appeal and enjoyment. On one hand you get a little pleasure from knowing that you're "saving" money with pre-booking via online offers for some people and buying on the day with vouchers and cornflakes boxes for other people... but good lord its a frustrating and hard work process. Plus you end up feeling like you've probably over paid somewhere.
As a casual visitor I can say the whole pre-visit process of sorting tickets and pricing up the trip has been a real turn off and has the actual park is going to have to work out really well to balance it up. Its very frustrating.
But anyway. I doubt anyone here disagrees that the pricing is a minefield. And I'm ranting at the wrong people. To the members of this forum, and this thread in particular, I say Thank-You! You're a lot more helpful that the AT website! :

Re: 2013: Offers, Deals and Vouchers
In terms of parking its £6 to park, tickets can be bought at the two machines in the car park monorail station, the four machines at the theme park entrance, and now you can also buy them at all the ticket desks. So if you are buying tickets on the day its easier to buy parking at the same time as buying your theme park tickets.
If you are visiting the waterpark or staying in the hotel, keep your tickets/room card and the parking is free.

No idea if this has been mentioned already, but KitKat (Nestle) have an offer on at the moment - 50% off entry to most of the Merlin attractions, including Alton Towers. Perfect for odd numbered groups!
The offer is on promotional KitKat bars, and full terms can be found here.
