Parc Astérix: General Discussion

Hi All,
Looking for some advice if ok.
We are planning on visiting during the day on Friday October 31st. I'm about to buy the tickets but am unsure which fast pass to go with.... I'm reluctant to splash out on the Gold so considering Silver or Bronze.... what would your advice be? Is Silver the same as Bronze but just with a 50% reduction on the virtual queue time?

Thanks.

Thats correct, silver just gives you 50% off the queue time and bronze you virtually queue 100% of the time.

I used the bronze last year and it was great.

Obviously as these were virtual queues, you can still use the normal queues whilst waiting virtually.

If its not a super busy day bronze was great as there's enough rides you still need to queue for you can spend your time queueing for whilst your virtual queue is counting down for another ride.

Thanks for the feedback - given Silver is only EUR10 more per ticket I've decided to go with that... I can see October 31st being a busy day so i'm sure we'll get good use out of them.

Some images of the lightish Egyptian retheme coming to L’Oxygenarium and the chair-o-plane next year:

And the first concept art for the new Londinium area for 2028 with a layout for the indoor multi-dimension coaster which’ll be much more heavily themed than Port Aventura’s:

There’ll also be a heavily-themed interactive dark ride from Alterface - who did Maus au Chocolat at Phantasialand:

For their winter event (Late December/January), are all their rides open or is it just a selection of them?

Just the following:

Toutatis
La Glissade d'Obelix
Attention Menhir
Pegase Express

At a fan event, the park has announced that Tonnerre 2 Zeus is getting a partial (about 60%) RMC 208 retrack over this winter and next.

Hearing that they're also getting a 4th train for OzIris!
That's interesting! A clear admission from the park that the gravity group overhaul has been a total failure. I'm still sceptical though, even with the new RMC track those Timberliners could still be awful, but I guess we'll find out in due course.

It’s not very promising if Asterix are having to do another retrack with RMC just a few years after doing the massive Gravity Group retrack. I think it’s the trains that hamper Gravity Group rather than the track.

Their layouts are strong, but those Timberliners just aren’t very nice compared to, say, a Millennium Flyer and they do definitely induce a rattle.

Granted, the only one I’ve ridden is Mine Blower circa 2019, which wasn’t too bad back then, but it was definitely more unrefined and rough around the edges than a GCI and I can imagine that could be quite painful on a bigger woodie like Zeus.

They might be putting the 208 track on the parts the Gravity Group didn't re-track.

The Timberliners for me work best on their smaller coasters, your Kentucky Flyers, Timber, Switchback, and Wood Express.

It's no surprise that my two favourite big Gravity Group coasters The Voyage and Boardwalk Bullet run PTC trains.
