Paultons Park: General Discussion

New line of discussion .....

If you had free reign to re-theme the Critter Creek area, including teacups, kontiki and pirate ship, what theme would you include, and realistically what couple of new tides would you add.

For me personally, I would go with a space theme, replace the teacups with a newer version and have them as UFO's. Id change the pirate ship to a giant swinging space rocket, and I'd move kontiki over to the Valgard area.

New rides I'd add to the new space area would be one of the big wave splash down flat rides, as it could be themed to the rocket crashing down on the moon, and secondly I'd move the edge over and theme that in, along with a re-theme of cat-o-pillar coaster.

What does everyone else think?

A pirate area would be the easiest option, I think a larger pirate ship would be great for the park. I'd be happy with other themes, it wouldn't be a huge area but a smaller land with some new flat rides and an indoor attraction of some sort would be good.

A space theme would certainly be unique in the UK. I certainly see Critter creek and the adjacent area where the clapped out Teacups are being included in the new area. I actually think a large Pirate ship (regardless of theme) would go well next to the river at the back of the area. I would also get rid Catopiller coaster as well

If Paultons got a pirate area, I would want them to install a log flume of at least the size of the one that is now at Dreamland.

The irony being that Dreamland's log flume is the former Raging River from Paulton's 😜

We know there's some sort of water ride coming to Valgaurd for next year, so it's worth seeing what that turns out to be first.

Paulton's adding a Viking themed area followed by a Pirate themed area may be enough to push @GooseOnTheLoose over the edge 🫣
I believe I first went over The Edge when confronted with the casual cannibalism on display in Peppa Pig World. Watching a pig sell sausage rolls made from his own kin tends to do that to a bird.

The gung-ho tribute to Western imperialism and colonialism, demonstrated by Dr Kinley plundering natural resources in the Lost Kingdom and enslaving beings against their will, already had me hitting the water and shattering every bone in my body.

If they are following the rape and pillage of the Vikings with a Pirate area, they are essentially completing the Crimes Against Humanity bingo card. I suppose "The Golden Age of Maritime Larceny and Scurvy" didn't quite fit on the park map...

At this rate, I fully expect their 2030 investment to be The Workhouse, where children under 1.1 metres are sent up a chimney for an immersive lesson in Victorian labour relations, or perhaps we can revisit The Witch Trials where misogyny was taken to a whole other level.

I did know that; yes.
It will be very interesting to see what they add there.

A larger Pirate Ship and a more permanent tea cups is a no brainer for Paultons in the coming years. Same with a Seastorm style ride

I think Cat-O-Pillar has it's place however I wouldn't be against them putting in a newer family coaster. I think the key thing is they're very good for families at that end but what they could do is add some rides towards the Family Thrill end of the spectrum to balance out things in that end of the park as at the moment, only Storm Chaser and Cyclonator offer something thrilling at that end of the park.

Like the idea of the Zamperla Big Wavez there 😄

I was thinking that 🤣 it's either Vikings,
Pirates or selling Peppa Pig's cousins at Peppa Pig World 😂🥓

I have a feeling that 2027 addition is going to be something of the Log Flume/Shoot the Chute style, even if it is one of Mack's Water Coaster/Rocking Boat rides.

I've always thought a Shoot the Chute in that area would be fantastic if they have the space.

I'd certainly think a Witches themed area and ride could be a fantastic option 😂

The Workhouse is rather unique, sounds like a funhouse 😂 a funhouse would be perfect for Paultons

As I thought, classic Goose 🪿 response on Paultons 😂

I'd have a Jungle theme, with the main ride being a Gerstlauer Airtime Coaster.

On the lake, I'd add a Mack Tow Boat ride, with elephants, snakes and hippos, plus some caves to go through with smaller animatronics in.
