True, I got more of a rural village feeling from it though. It’s not over the top on the “cogs and steam” bit of steam punk.

From that the interactions seem quite minimal. And much like the other coasters in the park, it is very short.... though being a OTSR Eurofighter that is perhaps merciful.

Just a reminder that if you are posting videos such as above to ensure that you give your own opinions on the content, especially in this case where we've already had a couple of fan made layout videos posted.

It does look ok from that video. Hopefully it will be the theming and any potential dark ride section that helps make this stand out from other Eurofighters of a similar scale.

A bit like the old Corkscrew at Alton Towers, its a bit short but pretty good for a kids first inverting coaster. Especially with the vertical lift hill and drop too.

Wondering if the theming will be on Par with Saw the Ride whether you like Saw or not it does have amazing theming.

This must be parody? Static doll on bike, some spikes, some lights that do not really give the impression of things flying across you, a mannequin on the floor with a sprinkler. It's fun, I personally don't hate it, but amazing themeing it ain't. Anyway, I don't think there is anything like enough room in that building to have a substantial amount of ride like Saw, I was just thinking a couple of scenes to roll through.

Looking at the POVs it struck me that the second inversion is actually quite an interesting choice for a my first inverting coaster. Things like vertical loops and corkscrews taken at speed have forces pinning you to your seat in a way that I imagine youngsters would find quite comforting. Having that prolonged slow hang time is some of the scariest, most unnerving and unsafe feeling you can get on a coaster, which is obviously not what they are going for here over all.

This was my initial thought when I saw it.

For me, getting over the fear of going upside down on a coaster boiled down to realising that you don’t actually feel like you're upside down. When I first did Corkscrew, I remember coming off it thinking "Oh… was that it?" (and also "ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow").

I'm 99% against the decision on OTSRs, but the other 1% feels they may be reassuring to younger ones during the hangtime.

Really the issue is if you want OTSR for psychological comfort that’s fine but you don’t want those ones.

On a personal note, I wonder what the policy will be for ear defenders. Currently my son is allowed to wear his on Rage but with that suspended hang I get the impression he won’t on this. As well as sensory protection I think they offer a degree of physical too.

The use of OTSR's on a ride that leans so heavily into hang-time is a very interesting choice. It's very much like deliberately trimming camel backs on a mega/hyper coaster. It defeats the purpose of having these elements in the first place. I like the layout, but it's not the right layout for a Eurofighter with OTSR's.

Just to slightly pivot the conversation away from the coaster itself - I do think this has the potential to be a truly special themed land for the UK as far as theming and landscaping goes.

What sets this apart from Vikings at Drayton Manor is how this leans more heavily into Scandinavian myth. Trolls and dragons in particular. It's a miniature Isle of Berk, but with a Paultons twist.


Paultons know how to theme their queue lines and ride exits elaborately. Glad to see that this should be no different.


And if there is a very brief dark ride section on the Eurofarter, I guess that'll give it a few points above the existing ones in the UK.

It's interesting to see the different approaches to the Viking theme. Paultons Park are leaning into Scandinavian myth, with dragons and trolls, whereas Drayton Manor are leaning into bolting a few shields onto a fence.

This will be a great themed land. Paultons are the best park in the UK especially when it comes to elevating their theming with lots of texture and lots of smaller details.

Got to remember when Drayton built Vikings the park weren't doing so well during 2020 it did go into administration so your having to rebuild an entire park from the ground up. Beauty of themed lands you can go back and add more stuff.

Like the Boat Planter they added this year.

Paultons will be to a higher quality we know this. It may encourage for Drayton to go down a similar route
