ℹ️ Heads up...
This is a popular topic that is fast moving Guest - before posting, please ensure that you check out the first post in the topic for a quick reminder of guidelines, and importantly a summary of the known facts and information so far. Thanks.
This certainly looks like it will be a great ride, and with it being near the middle of the park i'm hoping it might bring a bit of soul to what i found to be a pretty if soulless park
I spy a final runoff taking shape! Hopefully once they've finished those bits at the bottom the ride will be able to prep for testing. They can then continue adding the theming while they get the ride system ready
Looks like the camelback is going in
Don't think the rockwork at this top end is far off finished now! Just around the edge of the channel to go, which shouldn't take them long.
Not sure what's these stairs will be like. I think you'll enter from the left and possibly go up the little set into an extension, before going down the larger set into the main queue on the lower level.
Looks like the walls around the pool are coming along nicely.
The view from Talocan.
They've been paving the lower deck of the bridge over the last drop. Looks like you'll be able to walk across both the top and bottom of it!
Most of the rockwork around the temple seems complete. Looks like it'll just need painting
We'll probably see the tower at the end of the main bridge taking shape soon
I'm guessing that the wooden area inside the final turn will be part of the queue line. Judging by the fact they're paving around the left of the pool as well I think we can expect to see a big splash zone
Looks like the boats have finally turned up, and are living behind Race for Atlantis! I count 24, so I'm guessing it'll be inline seating for 5-6 people going off the length
Meanwhile, on the site, the facade is slowly coming together. Pace seems to have slowed right down in the past 2 weeks or so, but they're slowly getting back on track it seems.
Still no water though. Most of Germany is underwater, but it seems Chiapas is the driest place to be
I can't see it opening before July now. Shame really, as they seemed to be going so fast
Well arguably they could count it as summer right up to September, so I'm sure they'll make it in one form or another. At least they haven't been announcing dates and keep missing them *cough*
The final drop is going to look stunning if they have a decent show water pump on it <3
Also, I think the queueline is beginning to make sense. I think you'll be entering the ride on the left hand set of stairs near the Mexico plaza. You'll then go along the lower deck of the bridge, right over the final drop (Which is going to look amazing!), you then end up under the skeleton which will form the header of the bridge, where you will bare left, and make your way under the tower. Then, you'll emerge at the bottom right of the station building, where there'll presumably be a bit of a cattlepen extension if needed, and go around the bottom level, before assending the stairs, and turning right onto the upper level. There it'll no doubt be another weaving cattlepen, before turning left and going down the staircase hidden at the right of the building, and into the station.
It looks like it's going to be another Mamba esque queueline, with lots of long weaving pathways close to the ride, and a few enclosed sections for good measure (Fingers crossed it'll never need to use it all!)
The only thing which would have me say that that might not perhaps be the case is the other entrance to the lower level of the bridge under Colorado. I can't really see any other options though. Unless the top level of the station is going to be a cattlepen? I'd presumed that it was being used for food and merch?
I have to admit I'm rather bored of the project now, but once it's done it'll definitely be another quality ride for the park. Mamba, Talocan, Colorado and now Chiapas, all crammed together makes for some high density goodness
1) Leave Mamba for later in the day so it has chance to warm up. I find it much faster in the afternoon.
2) Be sure to ride both sides of Winjas, as they are really quite different.
3) To avoid the bigger queues make sure you're around the House of Six Dragons in Berlin at about 10:50. The fantasy area and Wuze Town are fenced off until 11, so as soon as the rope drops make a b-line for Winjas. Believe me, that queueline is far from pleasant when it's warmed up later in the day.
4) Enter via Berlin if possible. It's much more atmospheric than China or Mystery entrances.
5) If there's anyone larger in your party look closely when boarding Mystery Castle. On some towers the seats are a darker colour than others, and supposidly have bigger seats and restraints.
6) Have a good time
Oh, and I'd advise taking a bottle of water with you if it's going to be hot. Unless of course you want to pay €3+ per bottle
Food and drink are quite reasonably priced in general. Food tends to be cheaper than drink in Germany I find (No idea why!) But bottled water always seems to be really expensive in German parks for no obvious reason. They probably make a bigger margin on post mix drinks
There is a Real supermarket about 5 minutes drive from the park where bottles of water are only about 60¢ if you're feeling cheap I'd probably just fill a bottle in my hotel or something and take it out with me for the day.
Speaking of heat, one more tip:
6) If it's red hot and you want to cool down don't even bother looking at Wakobato! Doesn't get you the slightest bit wet However, if you keep walking past it towards the end of the park where the little Wuze garden is you'll see a path which goes uphill back towards Nighthawk and Wuze Town. If you go up there the park have installed misters along part of the path, which are a lovely way to cool down
