Re: Pleasurewood Hills 2013: 5 New Attractions That slide was removed years ago. It was massive. I remember trying to go on it when I was really young but being too afraid, then after trying a few smaller ones elsewhere I went back but they'd removed it Also the Rattlesnake (as it was rightfully known before the rename everything something stupid marketing stunt) had a tunnel as well as the enclosed lift hill that ran alongside the station, after the second drop. But that was removed long before the name change and all the other tampering. It’s a good park... but once you’ve been a few times there’s not a whole lot to make repeat visits worthwhile. Unfortunately I can’t see it expanding beyond a small park because the catchment area is too limited, if you don’t live in East Anglia it’s a 2 hour plus journey at least.
Re: Pleasurewood Hills 2013: 5 New Attractions Rattlesnake was great back in the day, but they made adjustments to keep the locals happy. It's still an insanely loud ride though.
Re: Pleasurewood Hills - New for 2013: Hobs Pit... 2013 NEWS: Looks like that rumoured dark ride retheme and refurb is going to come true. The park's website is advertising their star attraction for 2013: When hovering over the image on the website, it says "Scare Ride 2013" which implies it will be some sort of scary dark ride aimed at an older audience. The Fairytale Fantasy seems the most likely location for this, which could extend into the Main Street Shop (which was closed for most of last season). Of course, all of this is pure speculation, but it will be interesting to see what Hobs Pit turns out to be!
Re: Pleasurewood Hills - 2013 Dark Ride(?) I hope that the ride is more professionally done than that image editing...
Pleasurewood Hills - 2013 Dark Ride(?) Good to hear of some investment from an otherwise minor park. That logo is rather dire though.
Re: Pleasurewood Hills - 2013 Dark Ride(?) Why do enthusiasts have to slag off pretty much everything that every park does? Pleasurewood Hills is one of the smallest parks in the country and they're revamping one of their dark rides, yet all people can do is bitch about the logo?! Get a grip.
Re: Pleasurewood Hills - 2013 Dark Ride(?) Just because the park is small doesn't mean they aren't capable of using Photoshop properly! Heck, a kid using Power Point could probably do a better job than that!
Re: Pleasurewood Hills - 2013 Dark Ride - Hob's Pit ]A few updates from PWH's facebookbefore they re-open later this month: ^Pirate Ship & Queue Work ^ The new teacups ^Teacups again ^Scaffolding on Enigma ^ Re-painted toilets and the (currently missing) park entrance ^Re-cladding the toilet block / Fish & Chip restaurant ^ The demise of the old entrance ^ Jolly Roger ERECTION ^ New kids whale roundabout ride thing. And this 'exclusive' was on Unofficial Pleasurewood: ^ Could this be part of the location for Hob's Pit? The wall has been stripped back and the newer Fairytale Fantasy sign has been removed along with the old platform and queue barriers... The plot thickens! [hr] EDIT: ^ More Hob's Pit teasing... AND for all you merch geeks... and upgrade to the shop and merch selection:
Re: Pleasurewood Hills - 2013 Dark Ride - Hob's Pit That's pretty high quality merch for such a little park! What are their prospects of getting a decent (read: permanent) new ride?
Re: Pleasurewood Hills - 2013 Dark Ride - Hob's Pit I like those blue mugs! Nice pinky finger rest underneath the handle ;D
Re: Pleasurewood Hills - 2013 Dark Ride - Hob's Pit Well this year's new attraction is set to be just that. An in-house produced dark ride named Hobs Pit which is set to be the park's scariest ever attraction. It's rumoured to take up the space of an older fairytale based dark ride as well as an old shop next door. Though very few details are known, it's likely to be some sort of walk-through followed by a ride system at the end... Needless to say, it seems like a big project for the park and resembles the biggest investment in a while. Should be good.
Re: Pleasurewood Hills - 2013 Dark Ride - Hob's Pit Update: Unsure on whether PWH social media was really hacked, or if it was clever viral marketing but the following has been uncovered today from it: http://hobs-pit.com/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QQ7eau-dIs#
Re: Pleasurewood Hills - 2013 Dark Ride - Hob's Pit Some interesting news from the park on the only Schwarzkopf Jumbo V in the world - Enigma: It's really cool that they will be giving a 30 year old ride a new lease of life, especially after its been butchered by the park over the 10-15 years its been at PWH. It's been on 1 train operation for many years after the other trains were used for spare parts - and clearly other parts of the ride were beyond repair too. Last season they said that had they not started to refurb it, the ride would have had to have been scrapped, which would have been a terrible shame. It's really cool to see a quirky little ride with great head choppers and some fun banked turns get the attention it deserves. Well done to the park!
Re: Pleasurewood Hills - 2013 Dark Ride - Hob's Pit I wonder how many trains Enigma was originally designed to run? I'd have thought it must be at least 4, given it's a traveling Swartzy. As for that video, some interesting sound there. Definately creepy enough to get my interest
Re: Pleasurewood Hills - 2013 Dark Ride - Hob's Pit I *think* it arrived with 4 but there's enough blocks (including Anton's lovely curved and sloped ones) for it to technically run 5 - which it may have had when it was originally made. There's some pics around of the stripped and destroyed trains which is sad - but fortunately there are two left of which one has been repainted into a mine train style and is operational and the other is intact but unusable. It's a fun little ride and can be surprisingly forceful
Re: Pleasurewood Hills - 2013 Dark Ride - Hob's Pit Oh yes, I have a lot of love for anything Anton XD
Re: Pleasurewood Hills - 2013 Dark Ride - Hob's Pit I just wish they'd get rid of the bloody chimney on the front of the train!
