Pleasurewood Hills

There has been no changes from what can be seen from the car park and round the edges, im sure a couple will appear in the next few weeks , maybe once they have been refreshed/checked over from being on the circuit.

Cannonball is very much still there too

Not sure if it’s relevant to the conversation, but I know that PWH did have to get planning permission for Wipeout.

In terms of temporary rides, I believe that this is a different matter. Chessington never had to get planning permission for the big wheel that they installed in 2005 due to it technically being a temporary structure. This was also how it was allowed to go over tree height without issue. This would presumably be the same for the rides that they plan to install at PWH?

Wipeout was originally refused as they wanted it round the other way ( I think) then it was approved once the removal of the magic mouse coaster took place which had barely done 5 years service, shame they couldn't have kept it.

In terms of other rides, the drop tower needed permission, yet i dont think they need it for certain height rides ( notably flats )

Observation pods for a observation wheel are currently on the parks car park, so safe to assume a "big wheel" will be at least something new for PWH this 2026 season. Unable to attach a photo of them yet can confirm they are there.. white pods

I won’t lie, I would be somewhat disappointed if this was one of the ‘big additions’ the owners were teasing. I doubt it’ll get much footfall, as I presume it won’t he high enough to see anything interesting like Yarmouth or the ocean. The wheel that opened at Wicksteed was well presented yes had no interest when I visited. This was ~2/3 years ago, can’t remember exactly.

I do agree, im a bit downbeat that this is one of the new rides, if the park was already full of rides then yeah no problem yet this won't bridge the gap much

Lots of rumours for this park at the moment. As well as the Big Wheel, there are persistent rumours of a Star Flyer as well (which Shawn mentioned on Theme Park Worldwide).

Also, has anyone heard the rumour about the Zamperla Endeavour 24? It had the ring of truth about it, I thought, as it was so specific.

I haven't heard any of the rumours apart from the Big Wheel

The Endeavour seems rather specific, I thought they were park models so would be shocked if they've put one in. It's still plausible that they could've picked one up off the secondhand market i.e. possibly the former Dreamcatcher at Dreamland Margate?

That's a very good shout. As far as I can tell, it was definitely up for grabs as of 2021.

As of yesterday there was no sign of anything going on, the units for the ferris wheel are still on a lorry in the car park, whilst you can't obviously see all areas from the outside, not much life as yet or anything new

The endeavour was posted on a local group yet was swiftly removed again last week, a kids caterpillar coaster ride is also quite likely to appear it seems

Also a look on local council shows no planning applications for the park either, I am not sure yet for certain height rides i think they would need permission

I think before any new rides come in upgrade and fix the rides you've got first. Reopen the Go Karts and the theatre

Totally agree. I do feel for the new operators, the list of what needs to be done is never ending

Every year this park survives, the more im baffled. How exactly? There's barely anything there and not a single attraction Im interested in.

With the new operators it definitely has to be make or break, it wont happen this year yet maybe 2027 into 2028 the tide will turn

It's a park I just haven't felt the draw to visit, but as this as many content creators have pleaded in the wake of Brean, maybe the year of the small park, and might double up this and a visit to greet Yarmouth later in the year.

I can't help but feel that the parks out on the edges will always struggle to grow, so while the likes of Drayton and LWV are central enough to expand their visitor base, I'm not sure this is ever going to be a park that can really grow it's visitor numbers, so not sure if deep investment will ever be warranted over a balanced lineup.

What worries me is that is the optimal time to be banging the drums to get people excited to visit, and it all seems quiet on the western front.

I'm excited to see what Mellors can do with LWV, with this place I'm really not sure if there is much that can be done.

I think weve sadly had too many amusement/theme parks in this country for the size it is.

There's only a finite amount of people interested in this hobby and from the pool of people who are, they simply cant afford to visit them all.

I know countless couples my age who have kids and are simply not interested. Weve invited them on days out with us to parks and they just arent fussed.
