Plopsaland De Panne General Discussion

I've only ever used the ticket kiosk - I didn't even know it was possible to book online with EP discount

Dragen is currently down for maintenance, with a sign saying after many laps it is time for it to take a break. Not sure if this is a short term thing or long term.

That’s a shame, tentatively planning to go mid July so hopefully it’s back then.

I think this is the only Mack powered I've ridden that went around once. The park wasn't even that busy!

We've decided to make our first ever trip here in a few weeks! Sadly won't be able to do RtH due to my sons height but everything else he's able to go on.

A few questions if i may:

1. How long does one need in the waterpark? Our plan is to drive over and then visit the water park that afternoon, i'm assuming like all these places (except Rulantica) 2-3 hours is plenty?

2. We're getting an AirBNB nearby, has anyone done similar? If so, are there supermarkets that will be open relatively late or is it a quiet area? Will be a Sunday when we arrive.

3. How busy are we talking for a Monday in late July? Merlin hell levels or European civilised?

4. Am i fine leaving it till a few days before to buy tickets or is this a park that sells out?

I can't answer 1 or 2 but in the past I've bought tickets at the park to get the EP pass discount,I don't think there's any real chance of the park selling out in advance

RtH barely gets a queue so if you've got someone else accompanying him you could jump on.

I think he’d get very upset if he saw me. My wife showed him a video when I went to 6 Flags whilst away for work and he was furious.

Am still contemplating sneaking off to ride Baron at Efteling if he’s in bed though 😈

The water park isn’t that big so a few hours would be fine, it’s only got a few slides and a little outdoor pool, which is quite nice if the weather is nice.

There is a small supermarket next to plopsaland that is open on a Sunday, not sure what time they are open til but wouldn’t be any later than 7/8pm.

Just send them off to ride Dragen/Heidi and sneak on
This. Why miss on out on a fantastic ride when they are ways that you can get on it without your son even knowing. Say that you are splitting up for a little bit to go and get yourself a coffee or whatever and get your ride on, I’m sure if you come back with a nice waffle or ice cream for him it wouldn’t be a problem.

The trip isn’t for me, it’s for him. He’ll get upset if I disappear for a prolonged period and I’ll feel guilty enjoying it without him. And he’s sharp, if he somehow spots me he’ll be devastated.

I’ll see how busy it is, if I can literally slip off for 10 min (is it single rider?) whilst he goes on a favourite ride/toilet with mum maybe but guessing it’ll be too busy for that.

Yeah trying to ditch a kid can often be a lot harder than putting something on that you think will preoccupy them.

Hopefully you get a chance though. Could also "forget" something in the car and volunteer go back and get it via the ride.

There's no single rider queue but at times it can just be walk on up to the station. It's very possible that you can be on it and done within 10 minutes if they are running two trains and the park isn't too busy, it gets much less of a queue than the family rides do there.

But think of it this way, if you are driving all that way to treat him to a visit to the park then you deserve a treat yourself. Obviously I don't know you or your son, but I know from my own experiences as a family visiting a park (with a son who is neurodivergent and doesn't like big intense rides) that splitting up and letting people experience different things can be a great way to make sure that everyone has an enjoyable time and gets to ride on what they want. No need to feel guilty at all about the idea of riding it yourself when he can't.
