They used to really mess up my shoulders badly as well as I'm 6ft 4in tall. However I have discovered a new riding position where I basically push against the restraint to stop it from causing shoulder damage.
Works an absolute treat as well I'm pleased to say
I set a new personal one day record yesterday on Furius Baco btw, 60 rides!! lol
Never to be beaten as that really is the absolute limit even for me!! Not saying I won't equal it another time though
Wow, that is insane. I reckon 3 rides in a day would be the 'absolute limit' for some people on Furious Backache! I went on it last August for the first time, having not seen any POVs, so being totally unaware of the layout other than what you can see going over the lake, and it was dark so we didn't have a clue what was going on. So other than the launch and the final bit, it was a mystery what was going to happen inbetween. That was about 1030 pm, after a long day and on the way out of the park, as it'd had 80 minute queues all day. Unusually for a coaster, the whole family went on. Wife & kids aged 11 & 8.
A bit crazy having Baco as your first launch coaster at those ages really. They all claimed to like it but it was only myself & the eldest lad who went on it on our next visit a few days later. Only weeks before they would both barely go on anything, then we rode The Ultimate in July after which I told them that they could probably handle any roller coaster afterwards! So within weeks from riding nothing of note, they'd done the roughest coaster in the country, then Shambhala & Furious Baco & eldest lad did Dragon Khan & Red Force too, then returned home on top of the world & did Revolution, Infusion, The Big One & Ice Blast all for the first time. Good progress, now they can't wait for Icon!
I must say that riding Baco late at night for the first time, shooting off into the dark unknown at great speed at the end of a brilliant day, is something I'll never forget. The first ride buzz was such that I didn't really notice any discomfort, but on the second ride my shoulders were hurting. I do love the ride but I'm not sure I could do it repeatedly, however quiet the park was!
