Potential New Universal UK Park

Think if the park was going to be a series of rides and experiences based on multiple properties then F+F would make sense. However it seems that Bedford will be like Epic and Beijing with specific lands themed to one ip and multiple attractions built to that.

Would hope we'd get Jurassic Park/World as that's an evergreen ip.

Potter seems like a no go, so if they want fantasy/wizards/castles you'd imagine that's were either Lord of the Rings or Wicked comes in.

Dreamworks for a kids area, maybe a specific IP or just a number jammed in together to cover a number of bases.

Did anyone visit the Jurassic World pop-up attraction before it closed?

Wanted to do it but wasn't paying those prices for what was essentially a one hour long attraction. If you don't have kids and weren't restricted to weekends and holidays then I think there was some more reasonable prices offered.

£100 is a lot of money for a family of 3.

Much the same reason we didn’t - 5 of us.

Anyone thing Universal have looked at the feedback and response from this as market testing?

I see two reasons for the cash injection:

1) They are readying to go full steam ahead and want the land for the roads/transport hub acquired. On top of the rest of the Manor Road residences they have yet to purchase.

2) They are starting 'enabling works' for the site (construction village, site entrances, all those things)

Or how about a 3rd option?

3) All of the above.

ExperienceUK, the trade body for the UK experience sector, has secured a deal with Universal to provide an exclusive procurement list featuring approved and certified members of their body. In essence, UK companies and not big US / European giants with 'token' offices here in the UK. This indicates that Universal are slowly but surely reaching the procurement stage.

Do you have a source on this? I can’t see anything from a cursory Google search so I’m assuming it’s not readily available information

Feels like a matter of time until we get some sort of green light sign now. Fully anticipate we will see construction begin before they announce anything though in typical universal fashion.

A 2030 opening is as good as written off for me though. There's no way that timescale is now feasible, especially given how long major projects seem to take over here. 2031 or maybe even 2032 now seems far more likely. It's going to be quite the wait for us thoosies.

We may well see construction begin before they announce any real details of the park. But we won't see construction begin before they make a planning application, and you'd think that Universal would rather make an announcement of the project going ahead themselves rather than all of the press just picking up on it through an application made!

I'm thinking that something has been signed off, because this looks like the start of proper 'enabling works'. With everything else, this is all very exciting.

Enabling works cannot take place before planning permission is granted for the main development. Planning permission hasn't even been applied for.

The fences will be for site security and to prevent the ever increasing number of vloggers turning up to use the site as a backdrop, whilst wearing hard hats and/or sitting on camping chairs.
