Do you know what they're doing about bags on WM then? I know they left space on the exit platform for baggage cages if they were ever needed.

This is what I did last weekend.

I arrived about 9:30am and parked at the hotels, then used my hotel confirmation to access the park via the Galactica gate. In the afternoon I left the park and was given a yellow wristband (I guess instead of doing hand-stamps), and then I checked into my room. After checking in I re-entered the park via the Galactica gate showing the yellow wristband.

You could wait until the evening to check-in but I just thought it would be better to do it earlier.

The baggage hold area was still in use last weekend.
 
I might do that. I'll be getting there early, so will go straight to the hotel car park and go in via Galactica gates with my booking form. Might ask reception if I can check check-in, swipe my card and go to the park and come back later to take bags to the room from the car. With Oktoberfest being on I'll be having a few steins, that's for sure.

The bus wouldn't solve the issue as to why the monorail is closed.

The queue for the monorail with social distancing would be huge if they restrict the number of people per cabin etc
If they used buses there would still be capacity issues and huge queues.
 
Can you use the hotel guest entrance during the afternoon to get back to the hotels or back in the park?

We was walking down to the galactica car park around 5pm sunday and i'm sure i saw a group coming through a door at the gate

I'm thinking of booking a night for scarefest and this would be a bonus
 
I was lead to believe it was only open in the morning, 9:30 to 11:30 is what it said in my hotel confirmation email. However last weekend over Oktoberfest it was open all day for entry and exit for hotel guests, so I'm not sure. Maybe due to the monorail being closed they have decided to keep it open?

Maybe with the longer hours they keep it open all the time...at fireworks we generally go back mid afternoon when the queue's get mental....have a few drinks and flambo's for evening meal then head back down...but the momorail is on...wouldn't fancy walking 4 times!
 
They have changed the hotel entrance now. It’s open 9.30-11.30 as standard for hotel guests, however you can now leave it at any point during the day to go to the hotels, if you are returning just get a wrist band. And they will then let you back in at any point. I believe technically they shouldn’t let new guests in after 11.30 but they can use their discretion as there will be staff with scanners and security there all day.

Then at ride close the gates open as normal, and anyone can leave.
 
I've not stayed in a resort hotel for about 15 years, and generally avoided Merlin for a good while because of how dire they are, but toddler + Cbeebies Land means I'm looking to go against my better judgement and hitting Towers.

Just looking to prices to go next week, it seems rooms don't come with park tickets any more? Certainly used to as standard.
So they want £170 for a room then park tickets on top, which for the product they're offering seems a bit of a shocker.

Off site options do include park tickets I know, so that's looking like the way to go, but they largely are dives. Is there a way of staying on resort at a price that's somewhere nearer reasonable?

you are paying a premium for the convenience of staying on site. It’s rare to find a room during the theme park season for under £150 B&B. I don’t think I’ve ever known the on site hotels to be reasonably priced.
I will pay up to £150 a night for the convenience of being close to the parks plus entertainment etc, but the service probably isn’t good enough to be worth more than £200. I don’t think they’ve included park tickets in a very very long time.

But there are plenty of B&Bs (I liked Chained Oak) and guest houses nearby for around £100. Even with the fact you need to pay parking it can be cheaper. Premier Inn nearby can be even cheaper, but breakfast is extra cost.

Yeah, I get why they get away with charging what they do, I just don't agree the product is worth it however close it is. Others obviously do though.

Even though it's primarily for my daughter I'm going to hold out to see if they get Wickerman open, not going all that way without the only major attraction I'm yet to ride not opening. What will be will be...

There was some up to 40% off discount codes earlier in the year but I don't think there are ever really any this time of year. I agree the prices can be insane, but as you say someone must be willing to pay it.

How may people is it for? Because they like to quietly add on an extra room for any booking over 2 people requiring you to manually change it back!
 
how do I cancel a free season pass ticket?

I prebooked it for 2 people on the 20th and 21st (intending to buy a pass on my next visit) but when I went last Friday, I was told that they had stopped selling season passes, so now I have 4 useless tickets with seemingly no way to cancel :(

Hey all, a few questions.

Going on Friday and staying in the hotel, will we Ben able to enter at the galactica gate?

Also, what time does the skyride open?

And finally, where can I buy the drink container for the freestyle refills? Are they just in the shop on towers street, or available all around the park?
