Back when Wicker Man opened in 2018, for at least the first season, I remember seeing the merge host and pre-show batcher had clicker counters to count the number of people they let through. I assumed that for the preshow they let in 48 or 72 people (2 or 3 trains worth) which would help with mitigating the crush on the platform waiting to be batched to your bay. Why are they not using these counters anymore?I wonder whether funnelling people through a cattle pen that goes past the bag drop and through that batching room before the pre-show would help. Particularly on busy periods, it’s very unpleasant in there and I agree with @djtruefitt that it’s wasted time by the batcher shoving the pre-show room full of people.
There should be a set capacity for the pre-show room (not overcrowding it) that can run more regularly and get people moving through quicker.
