Ride Availability/Operations 2022-26

Smiler was a walk on most of the day, 2 trains on the track at the same time amd possibly one being loaded. Again operations were really good on it

Were the restraints replaced with the new style Gerst ostr's, I've seen multiple people comment about it but 0 evidence

I would say from what I've seen at Thorpe (rather than Towers) is it's definitely partly to do with the team. Some seem to work together better, communicate with each other and want to get trains out quickly - Inferno, Stealth for example. Some seem to be surprised they have anything to do, meandering about the platform, staring off into space, generally getting in the way - Swarm, Fish. Others seem hampered by guests - mainly Legoland and Chessington, where some people seem surprised to find a coaster at the end of the queue they've been standing in for the last hour.
Towers - I can't really remember. I don't go as often as Thorpe because it's further away and Chimp is fully in her teen era so views Thorpe as her second home and Towers as boring.
I concur. Experience over 4 trips to Thorpe last year are stealth and inferno teams are on it. Swarm.. very slow

Just checked the app and I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or not but RMT Is closed for essential maintenance, same as Skyride and Monorail (seen on separate source) Battle Galleons and Rapids not open till May ...

Literally came here to post about this too. Not open until May? Ugh, come on Towers!

I get David Walliams and to an extent Sub Terra and Alton Manor opening at 11am, but Galactica, Spinball Whizzer and TH13TEEN should all be opening at 10, no excuses there really. Particularly if Rita doesn’t open on time then people are in Dark Forest for no reason. The fact they’re doing this even when they’ve not got to get RMT ready because it’s closed isn’t good.

I don’t like keep writing negative things about the place either, I’d love to be positive but they’re not really giving me reason to be

Looks like both the sky ride and monorail are operational today with no notification otherwise on the app. So it might not be as dire as people are making it out to be.

Runaway mine train is also scheduled to be open.

Parks across Europe have staggered openings, these rides aren’t popular or don’t need to be open all day.

I think it’s slightly dramatic

Sorry, but no. This is what is meant to be the UKs largest and premier theme park. Staggered openings, particularly on some of the larger more popular coasters, should never be considered acceptable.

So that'll mean busier queues for the likes of Rita for the first hour or so because half of the people up there won't be in the Thirteen queue. Merlin clearly just want to use Towers as a cash cow and a way to get people to buy Merlin passes, but don't want to actually pay to run the place properly. Honestly, just shut your company down and call it a day.

I wouldn't class Air or Thirteen as "unpopular" rides. Even Spinball is popular for those not quite ready for the more spooky themed 1.2m coasters.

Those parks with staggered openings don't tend to be the biggest park in the country either.

And they didn't even pay for that

Did the MAP holders have to bring their own paint?

Some staggered opening can be sensible if it’s 30 minutes after opening (I wouldn’t have a huge issue with some of the side attractions like sub-terra opening at 10:30 for example). But Galactica and Thirteen are stupid decisions and a whole hour after park opening is bad.

Ah the good old opening day moans are here already. Reminds me why I wouldnt ever dream of visiting on opening day. I think most people who attend today know its not going to be a park on top form but its almost become a badge of honour to be there on this day now.

Given its going to be full of vloggers too I genuinely dont see the great appeal.
(Mono) rail replacement bus for day 1 is hilariously on brand for Merlin though

Counted for the first 1hr and rides scheduled to be down 12 Rides are closed not accepatable at all especially Monorail as thats the first ride you see
