Ride/Park Accidents

Worker killed during testing of Olympia Looping at Munich Oktoberfest.

Article is in German. It states a 20 year old worker was struck by a train during testing when he was still on the track during maintenance.
English report here from DW.com

Sadly this isn’t the only incident involving Olympia Looping in recent years, in 2022 an employee was also struck by a train and killed whilst it was at Wien Prater. Not great.

Yeah, that's a pretty shocking record. It shouldn't happen once, twice seems to show a real lack of care and professionalism towards safety.

I don't know if this is new but I've not seen it before so I assume so. From the Mama Mia exclamation I'm going to guess Italy?

A not so super Super Frisbe shedding its counterweight.

Yikes, yes it was a fair in the Italian town of Siderno.
Glad no one was hurt, that's the main thing!

Kings Island, USA - Two Banshee trains appear to have collided when one overshot the brake run and hit the train in the station. Doesn't appear to have been done with too much speed and no injuries reported, but that looks like a hefty whack:

Ryan the Ride Mechanic has a video on this.

It's an unusual setup because Banshee allows a train to progress through the service + safety brakes and park behind another in transfer. This allows for three train operations without mid-course brake blocks. (For comparison, on Nemesis you couldn't get a train to crest the lift until the other train was already advancing into the station)

His theory is brakes weren't correctly adjusted or broken brake cylinder degrading the brake performance, and the impact speed about walking speed.

I don't think I heard about it at the time, towards the end of summer a man was ejected from a Crazy Dance in Halkidiki, Greece, and died. Immediate concerning reports about the operation and set up. Looks to be some sort of breakdance.

Recent report that charges are being brought against operators with investigators finding an rusting rotting ride with bolts missing. Scary stuff, and not what you expect in Europe where regulation is usually pretty strong.

Never seen a Breaker like it. Unmaintained and a knock off is never a good combo

BBC News - Halloween clown 'attacked with medical device'
Interesting they're not identifying the device other than it not being a needle. Still must be every scare actor's nightmare.
That could be anything from "attacked with a bone saw", through to "sprayed an inhaler in their face". Keeping it vague just makes you speculate about speculums!
