Ride/Park Accidents

If you contact them I believe they will escort you in and out to ride the credits. I was planning to do that but ended up not going on the trip.
At their discretion...but not by right.
I was refused entry, had to suffer two whole bloody hours at Ikea with the wife instead.
I requested an escort just to ride the two main coasters, but I was refused due to a lack of staff.
When I did eventually go with mates and their kids, I was held at the gate until my mate turned up, with kids, and was then allowed in.
What surprised me was the sheer number of rides they have, maintainance must be constantly busy...I bet they have double the number of attractions at the Towers.
Not my sort of park at all...happy to leave the place to those who breed.

It's also harmful to adults with learning disabilities who are more likely to visit for the park itself and not for coaster credits.

But more generally it's just a dangerous mindset. Innocent until proven guilty comes to mind. I don't recall any incidents at Alton Towers or any other theme park, ever.
I'm not particularly bothered either but isn't this policy to not allow childless adults in a bit discriminatory?

I wonder if it's ever been challenged?
I saw a news story a while ago about an adult with a learning disability being denied entry to a Legoland Discovery Centre.

Having worked for social services for many years in the recent past, I can say there have been a large number of issues regarding predators visiting amusement parks over the years, or hanging around outside.
Blackpool has had major problems over the years with predatory paedophiles on the Golden Mile, there are a number of people who are not allowed on the promenade, ever, due to their previous behaviour.
Coastal parks, especially at closing time, are often discreetly monitored by park staff, and often police in plain clothes, following clusters of incidents.

I have been advised by child protection staff in the past to never arrange to meet clients outside parks at closing time.
Young runways often have a day on fairs/theme parks on the coast with their limited resources, then find themselves with no money or room for the night as they leave the park.
That is when the naughty people tend to strike.
I have even collected clients living in other care homes in Lancashire, because my clients had spotted them as we left.
Even got a gold star off the coppers for assisting with their missing person enquiries...I passed it on to the client who deserved it.
Even sites such as this are monitored, and I am very pleased that they are.
CEOP do a good job.

Sounds like it is a problem, I have never heard of this happening before! Not that I agree with what Gulliver's are doing however

Aware this thread is going way off topic now but, of course, not every childless adult is a predator!

Yes, and speaking from experience and without trying to hint at some sort of Savile level scandal, there are certainly predators within our wider 'community'. Parks, by association, need to tread carefully.

What amazes me is they've probably never considered that Mr Paedophile might just borrow a family member to get in, isn't it something like 90% of victims know their abuser and 60% are abused by a close family members?

Sky News said:
Six children are being treated for "potentially serious injuries" after a ride collapsed at a fairground where a fireworks display was due to take place, police say.

The park in Woking has been evacuated, Surrey Police have confirmed.

South East Coast Ambulance Service are on scene at what they are calling a "significant incident".

A spokesperson told Sky News the emergency services are treating six children for "potentially serious injuries".
