RIP Ripsaw

To be honest, towards its latter days, Ripsaw was an insult to its own legacy as it had been so poorly maintained, it almost looked like it was going to fall apart.

Very sad to see it go as I've ridden it for over fifteen years, but I think it needed replacing. I just seriously hope AT replace it quickly and replace it well.

Forbidden Sweep?

HAHAHAHA love it.

FORBIDDEN SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP

Let's not pretend we don't all know it'll be there until it falls apart :D

Don’t worry, I’m sure they’ll get a replacement made. Still, anyone got some drawing pins?

In other news John Wardley told the Uttoxeter Advertiser, ‘When I heard they were replacing Ripsaw with a bouncy castle I was initially sceptical. I thought it was just a gimmick. But this isn’t any old bouncy castle. It’s got this big finger thing that spins round and you have to jump out the way. It’s a next generation bouncy castle. I have to say it really is a lot of fun. When I rode it I said to Nick [Varney], this really is a great ride. I wonder if they’ll ever replace Nemesis with a bouncy castle. I do hope so’

‘Merlin’s CEO, Nick Varney, told the Uttoxeter Advertiser, I can’t comment on future rides, but this really is a compelling proposition. It delivers value to the shareholders, but most importantly it anchors Alton Towers as world class destination

Well, that's one way to replace Ripsaw, I'm glad they made an effort in to not make it too patronising for regular visitors.

Safe to the story line here is for this new ride,it's a finger swipe from Nemesis.

I'm late to the party here but what a sad sight it is to see Ripsaw gone and Dale's giant new inflatable in its place. I just. No. Christ. It's just awful.

Just moved nearly 30 posts from here into the more general Closures topic. Can we keep this discussion on Ripsaw please? :)

Probably one of the worst decisions they could have made, removing Ripsaw. I don't mind removal of old rides that are then replaced, however it seems as though Alton Towers/Merlin are removing all the support rides that help the park cope with high footfall on peak days

Presuming there ever will be high footfall days again! It's going downhill fast!!!
