Have you seen the amount of complaints about certain groups misbehaving on Sunday? Me pointing out that some don't behave very well isn't discriminative because it happens every single year. Since when did groups think it was acceptable to queue jump, damage themeing and raid sacre mazes without tickets. Towers should find these individuals and ban them. Any other day guest would get kicked out or banned for this sort behaviour, so why should they be treated any differently. Same rules applyI believe the ‘traveller days’ are linked to race days at Uttoxeter race course. The adults go to Uttoxeter races and the kids to Alton Towers. It’s nothing more than that.
Of course in reality there will most likely be Travellers visiting the park on any given day of the season, it’s just on Easter Sunday and first Sunday of Scarefest there are often larger groups.

Out of interest, why is it that “Traveller’s Day” even exists? Surely there’s nothing wrong with travellers visiting at any time of year, if they want to?
Travellers can visit whenever they want, just like anybody else. They're not restricted to only visiting on designated days.Mmm why don't people on here explain this one. Or are you going to claim towers are being discriminative for not letting them in whenever
I believe Alton Towers do offer them discounted tickets on specific days. This is to encourage them to visit on known days so the park can increase security patrols, restrict alcohol sales or make other arrangements rather than getting caught by surprise.

Just booked my tickets for the 25th. Won't be doing the mazes as the rest of my group don't want to. Gives us more time for rides though.

Yes I have seen the complaints, many of your questions have already been answered by other members in detail in terms of the practicalities that the park face with this behaviour, so there is no point repeating what has already been explained.

Whilst I’m not going to remove posts as there’s been some very good responses to people’s criticisms, can we move on from the discussion about the travelling community and no alcohol days please?
This is discussed time and time again every single year going over the same old ground. I don’t really see any benefit revisiting the same thing yet again.
Back to general Scarefest discussion please! Further discussion regarding this subject will just be removed, as it’s clearly not going to be of any benefit to those who already have their own views and opinions set in stone on the matter.

People I know have said that it's a bit more expensive than it should be, but is generally good.Did anyone try Trick o Treat Town this weekend? Just wondered what the attraction was like? Does it make use of part of the old Charlie elevator rooms?

Heard a few people's opinions on it, supposedly set designs are pretty good and it's overall a fun family experience, however £10 is just way too much. It does indeed make use of the elevator rooms, everything gutted bar the truss above.

With the trick or treat attractions I hear children under 12 are free with paying adults £10 each. Do we both get bags or is it just for the 1 of us?

I’m in the same boat but booked the mazes and going on my own. Not done that before so might be a tad awkward hence why i’ve booked 2pm in the hope of no queues and no dodgy looks!

The website states "Adults (anyone aged 12 and above) need to purchase one bag each to go through Trick o' Treat Town. Each adult can share one bag with up to 2 children (aged 11 and under). Interactive walkthrough suitable for everyone."
I read that as you only get the one bag for up to three people (adult and two under 11s). Not sure how that affects the amount of sweets given though!
There are some videos around
These show the amount of sweets given, but doesn't really answer your question!

It's one bag per adult, but each adult can share their bag with up to two under 12s.
Would they have had the option of selling them on perhaps? Can’t think where though. I’m glad that side of the building is getting used though. There’s SO much potential for more interior attractions at AT particularly around TWoDW.Until this Scarefest I had no idea they'd removed the lifts. I find that quite interesting, why would they go to that expense when they could leave them dormant?
Anyway, to get back on topic, I’m not sure I’d pay £10 for it though, however it’s good to hear that children under 12 go free, so I guess that makes it more palatable. It’s aimed at families after all.

First ever Scarefest started today in 2007.
Although Terror of the Towers existed before this didn't it?

Yep, there have been other incarnations of Halloween events at Alton Towers that predate Scarefest, Terror of the Towers initially launched in 2002 and they had Halloween themed ice shows at least as far back as 2000.
I believe in the early 2000s the event was named ‘Halloween Spooktacular’

Yeah I remember that too in 2003, which was apart of the Halloween Spooktacular event if my memory serves me right.
